[p]The Gold Series is without a doubt one of the most exciting special sets to hit the shelves of your local game store. Ever since their introduction in the original Gold Series, Gold Rares have remained a popular choice with many Duelists, so let’s take a closer look at the fourth installment of the series!
Gold Series 4 has been released a little more than 2 weeks ago. As always, the set features some very sought-after cards that were very hard to get as well as some cards that remained popular in past premier events. The highlight of Gold Series 4 is certainly [dck], a key card for Anti Decks that try to beat opponents with high ATK monsters while shutting down their key combos with cards like [dck], [opp] or [rai oh]. I’ve already talked to some Gemini Beat players who stated that they were happy their numbers might now increase a bit.
But Gold Series 4 doesn’t just appeal to competitive players. Younger fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series are looking forward to getting their hands on [fhd] – an impressive Fusion Monster that Kaiba used in the TV series to beat his competition. Together with [future] or [dragons mirror], you can bring out the heavy hitter without losting a single card, catching your opponent by surprise and finishing the Duel with a devastating attack of your [fhd]!
Collectors have more than 1 reason to rejoyce, too. Some of the cards included in Gold Series 4 have never been released in Europe before. That includes many classic cards like [b]Millenium Shield[/b] as well as [b]Genesis Dragon[/b]! Additionally, the set even features a playable version of [b]Obelisk the Tormentor[/b], so you can do it like Yugi and Kaiba and unleash the power of the Egyptian Gods!
You still need more reasons to pick up Gold Series 4? OK, how about that: It’s the first set ever featuring a cool playmat! Yes, those extremely hot items are no longer exclusive to players who are lucky enough to win them at Sneak Previews or Regionals; you can get your hands on playmats featuring Yugi (together with his signature monsters [b]Dark Magician[/b] and [b]Dark Magician Girl[/b], Kaiba (featuring [b]Blue-Eyes White Dragon[/b] and [b]XYZ-Dragon Cannon[/b]) or Yugi and Kaiba teaming up! Those new playmats are a little shorter than the playmats you’re already familiar with, so even if you’re playing on a smaller table, it’s easy to find the space for 2 of these.
That’s still not all, though. New Gold versions of [ryko], [sorcerer], [spy], [tytannial], [reaper], [gyzarus], [poa] and [monk] can make your deck look cooler than ever! You can check out all the Gold Rares on the product page on the official website, so you won’t have any more questions and know exactly what you can expect!
We can’t wait to see the Gold Series 4 in action today; who knows, maybe they’ll even appear on our Feature Match table in some of the Duels this weekend?!
