Day 2 Stat Attack!

02.12.2012 | 12:20 |

[p]It’s time for a Stat Attack! Diversity is the word of the day here in Barcelona and here’s a complete Deck and Duelist breakdown of those that were still in contention at the start of Day 2.[/p]

[p]First up is the country breakdown; which is relatively even across the field of major European countries. Several Italians showed up this weekend and it’s no surprise that so many of them made it to Day 2. As always, Duelists from all over Europe have attended, and we’ve even seen a dozen or so Americans here at the YCS. 3 of those made it to Day 2 and there’s a chance yet that one of them could become the first American to top a European YCS.[/p]

[div]Here’s the all-important Deck breakdown for Day 2. YCS Seattle gave Duelists a good impression of what to expect in Barcelona, and of the 149 Decks present almost a third of them were Wind-Up. Mermail dive right in behind them with 26 and Dino Rabbit (which I guess can be called the “old reliable” Deck, despite being around for only a year) took 20 to day 2.

The big thing to take from this event is the sheer diversity of Decks that are in and around the Top 32 range. HERO, Dragunity, Chain Burn and Flamvell have all done well in the hands of skilled Duelists, and there’s plenty more wild ideas out there too, like the Duelist who has combined Inzektors and Chaos Dragons.

We’ll revisit these numbers later when analysing the Top 32, but for now feel free to take it all in and see how it matched up with your predictions![/div]
