Still holding an X:1 record is Daniel Laczko with his Shaddoll Deck. We decided to feature him because he decided to take a different approach in his build. Instead of using the standard engine he decided to run additional Dragon Rulers. Find out why!

Hi Daniel, can you explain why you choose Shaddoll today?
Shaddoll was the Deck I felt most comfortable with going into this big tournament. I already took the Deck to YCS Madrid unfortunately losing on the bubble. I learned from this and made some changes to the Main Deck in order to be better prepared.
What are your Tech Picks going into the Event?
I chose to play the Dragon version instead of the ever so popular Artifact version. I think it is far more consistent over 11 rounds of Swiss. My hand doesn’t fail so often and I can pull off a victory very easily. All I need is a [shd fus] and a [bls] to win. [wyvern] lets me search out [dad]. I was also afraid of facing to many [trapstun] and [wiretap]s.
Since I was very much aware of people siding and even maining heavily against the Deck I decided to play 3 [mst] in the Main Deck. It also gets rid of [vane] helping me to push through my important plays.
Can you tell us about your Match-Ups?
I don’t have any particularly bad Match-Ups. I only lost once so far against a Satellarknight Deck, because I wasn’t really prepared for this particular Match-Up. I do side 3 [trap stun] against Shaddoll and Burning Abyss making it much easier for me to win however.
What were your expectations for this event?
My goal is to make it to Top 32. I was already very close at YCS Madrid. This time I’m going to make it. I feel really confident with the Deck so far. I’ve been doing well today so let’s see what happens.
