Deck Feature: Patrick Schwaiger with Noble Knights

Noble Knights recieved a ton of support with the release of [nkrt] recently. Curious of the impact of the new cards we asked Patrick Schwaiger to show us his version of Noble Knights. After Round 4 he is holding a 2:2 record, Day 2 is still within reach!

Hi Partrick! Why did you choose Noble Knights for YCS Milan?
I’ve been playing the deck for two years now ever since they were first released. I just love the artwork of the cards and the game mechanic of using Equip Spell Cards to trigger my monster effects. In addition I find the deck balanced and it’s great fun to play.
Can you show us some combos the deck can pull off?
I [foolish] into [na queen] to trigger the effects of my Noble Knight monsters. [na queen] allows me to keep my Equip Spell card count low, because the monsters are treated as equipped.

One of my strongest oppening plays is [medraut] plus any Equip Spell. I can special summon [borz] and search out three different Equip Spell cards. It’s not always wise to perform an XYZ summon due to [shd fus]. Sometimes I just leave it there. The board is already strong and pretty hard to break. My opponent needs to invest a lot of cards to get through this.
What are your expectations for this event?
I would love to make it to Day 2 this time, but other than that I’m mainly here to have fun with my friends.

How important is [merlin]?
[merlin] adds a lot of consistency to the deck. It is the perfect monster toolbox since it can search out any monster I need. And his other effect of allowing me to XYZ summon is a Quick Effect; I can use it during my Battle Phase and even during my opponent’s turn, It’s just a great addition to my deck.

Tell us about your Match-Ups?
Burning Abyss is a particularly tough Match-Up for me. My deck is heavily dependent on the normal summon which Burning Abyss regularly interrupts. Of the big three decks Shaddolls are the easiest to beat right now, even though they have [shd fus]. Qliphort beats the Deck easily the deck due to [skill drain]
Any last words?
Play more Noble Knights, it’s a really cool deck!
