Hi Alpay, tell us why you brought this Deck to YCS Prague?
Nekroz is the best deck this format. The deck runs tons of tutor cards making it way more consistent than any other deck right now. It feels like the deck never runs out of resources. It reminds me a lot of the old Dragon Ruler format but the monsters have better effects.
How do you prepare for big events like YCS Prague?
I playtest a lot a few weeks before the event. Me and my friends meet, discuss card choices and builds. It’s crucial to my success: I’m also a very conservative player. I weigh all options and try to find the best play possible. I think that’s what makes me stand out from all the rest.
What are your expectations for this event?
My goal was to reach Top 32. I did not expect to do so well today, but I’m still undefeated. I didn’t lose a single game so far, that success caught me by surprise.
Do have any Tech cards?
The maindeck is pretty standard. I side [mind crush] in the mirror match. It’s a strong counter to my opponent’s plays like [nz kalei].
Tell us about your Match-Ups?
I don’t have particular bad Match-Up. Qliphort can be a problem with all the floodgates they are playing. I think that all the other decks are subpar to Nekroz at the moment.
Any final words?
I want to give shoutouts to my friends! Particularly to Kian, Niklas, Soner and all of my friends online.
