Hi Niklas, tell us why you brought Qliphort to YCS Prague?

I chose Qliphort because the Deck has a favourable Match-Up against Nekroz. We built the Deck to beat Nekroz. The Deck can maindeck the all important floodgates and I even found room for a few tech cards. People don’t Mystical Space Typhoon Qliphort Scout anymore. They save it for Vanity's Emptiness and Skill Drain. So I can get my searches to collect my combo pieces.

What were you expectations going into this event?
To be honest I did far better than expected today. My success took me by surprise and I feel very confident going into Top 32.

Do have any Tech cards?

I maindeck 2 copies of Sealing Ceremony of Mokuton. The card gives me the edge in the Nekroz Match-Up and it’s also very strong against. Satellarknights. I tribute one earth monster to remove two cards from my opponents Graveyard. It also helps to dodge Nekroz of Valkyrus and win quickly. So far the card worked out for me, I’m glad I chose to play it. Another strong pick today was Mirror Force, which punishes my opponent when he’s overextending.

Tell us about your Match-Ups?
As I said, I built the Deck to beat Nekroz. The mirror match is not easy. It’s like a die roll, very much dependent on the opening hand.

Any last words?
I added a Herald of the Arc Light to my Extra Deck, because I knew a Deck playing Herald of the Arc Light would win this event. After the event I can say: I played it as well! I’m just joking. *laughs* Qliphort doesn’t need the Extra Deck a lot, so I included a few random cards.
