Deck Trends at the Top Tables in Round 4

[p]
When more than 4000 players come together to make history and one Deck comes out on top that few players expected, what happens at the next event? Will the Deck be all over the place or will you not feel an effect at all? We took a look at the top tables during Round 4 and tried to spot some trends regarding the popular Decks. Check it out, you might end up surprised!

One of today’s trends is the expected rise of Dark World at the top tables. Several times when I took a walk and checked what the players at the top 25 tables played, I came across Dark World and it seems like it’s also doing well at the tables past 25. This is certainly one of the aftereffects of the YCS #100 in Long Beach and we’re already looking forward to the remaining 32 players – maybe we’ll see a number of Dark World Decks there as well?

Heroes learning new Tricks

[nbsp][p]
Thanks to Premium Collection Tin that was released a month ago, [shining] is now also legal in Europe! This provided various Hero builds with a new trick, allowing them to take advantage of opposing Light Monsters and fuse them together with a Hero of their own (with the help of [super poly]) into [shining]!

Alternatively, they are just using some of their [alius] that sooner or later always end up in a Graveyard and recycle them for the [shining] Fusion Summon! IF your opponent finds a way to deal with the powerful monster, you still get to add some of your banished Heroes back to your hand, providing you with enough gas to apply pressure during the later turns. An all in all great addition to the existing Decks!

The return of… Lightsworn?

[nbsp][p]
We saw a few players here already that were piloting Lightsworn Decks. This is certainly quite unexpected, but if your opponent doesn’t see it coming, it’s easy to steal a few games with their help. After the initial assault, you can always make use of [sorcerer] or even [bls], ending games after [ss]ing several powerful monsters to the field during the very same turn!

Here are some pictures from the top tables that also show you some of the popular cards as well as the Duelists that are ahead of the competition!
