Dragon Duel: Who will make it to the World Championship?

It’s nearly time for the final of the Dragon Duel! We’re currently in the Semi-Final stage and four young Duelists are all in with a chance of going to Las Vegas in August to represent the younger players of Europe! Let’s see who’s currently in with a chance…

To my right is France against Italy, as Benjamin pits his Evilswarm Deck against Luca’s Dragon Rulers.

As I join this game it’s currently 1-0 to Benjamin. He’s in a strong position in game two with [maestro] and [tkr] at the moment. Could this game secure his trip to America?

To my left another French Duelists, Alain, is using Dragon Ruler to take on Germany’s Niels using Spellbook. The home-turf Duelist was a game ahead and could only look on as his opponent started with many discarded Dragons and a [blaster] in attack position. Niels has come back with a [sb jud] play and used [jowgen] on the next turn to destroy all [ss]ed Monsters on the field.

Back to the other table and Benjamin was unable to mount enough of an offense as Luca’s Dragons were reviving themselves left, right and centre. With that much attacking power on the field he had to conceed the game and go to a decider!

Niels was leaving Dragon Rulers in a whole world of hurt with a 2300 atk [kycoo] courtesy of [sb hall]. A [storm] from Alain allowed Niels to summon Jowgen from the Deck thanks to [sb tower]. This completely locked the French player out of options and, unable to make any plays, he acknowledged it would be the German heading to the USA!

In the other matchup, Benjamin was staring down a [sack] and [redox] with his [ophion] and [ev mand]. It wasn’t looking good and his Ophion soon bit the dust. It was only a turn later before he shook Luca’s hand – the Italian Duelist would be heading to the World Championship!
