Duelist Diary Update #1

3 rounds have gone by in a hurry and we got the first results in from our Diary Duelists! Check out how they’ve been doing so far.
Jake is currently sitting on a 3 – 0 record, giving him plenty of reasons to smile. He’s happy with his Deck choice as it’s proven to be the right one so far.
He had to face an Inzektor Deck round 1, which sounds a lot scarier than it actually is. At least that’s what Jake had to say about it, he feels that there’s no chance that he’s losing a match this weekend to Inzektor.
He also had to overcome an opponent who was playing the very same Deck he did. It got really close, but eventually Jake found the right answers in his Extra Deck to overcome the odds. Temtempo the Percussion Djinn proved to be a strong answer to his opponent’s threats and it helped him to turn that game around.
Paolo is also sitting on an impressive 3 – 0 record. His Deck is working just the way intended and he also seems to have lady luck on his side. This is how his matches went down:
He faced a Wind-Up Deck round 1, which is one of his best match-ups. Thanks to 2 copies of Maxx "C", there wasn’t much the Wind-Up player could do to come out winning on this one.
Round 2, Paolo was paired against a Bubble Beat player. In game 3, Paolo Special Summoned Evolzar Laggia and he also had Royal Decree and Forbidden Lance face-down. When his opponent attempted to Normal Summon Elemental HERO Stratos, Paolo simply negated that with Evolzar Laggia's effect. The opponent Set 3 Spells or Traps, Paolo flipped Royal Decree during the End Phase and attacked. His opponent drew and immediately offered the handshake, revealing his hand and the face-down cards: Only traps and Super Polymerization.
The last round, Paolo got paired against Inzektors. It was a hard-fought match with the opponent going first. It went to 3 games once again and in game 3, Paolo’s opponent had Rescue Rabbit (he got it with Paolo’s Leviair the Sea Dragon) as well as Inzektor Centipede and Wind-Up Zenmaines (1 Xyz Material) on the field. Paolo was holding onto 2 copies of Kabazauls and Monster Reborn. His opponent was on 4000 Life Points while Paolo only had 500 to muster his comeback!
Paolo got lucky and drew into Dark Hole; he activated it, brought back Rescue Rabbit with Monster Reborn, Normal Summoned Kabazauls, attacked over Wind-Up Zenmaines and the following 2 attacks with the other 2 Normal Monsters meant exactly 4000 Damage! Yep, definitely some lucky charm working for him!
Besnik is also sitting on a 3 – 0 record. He feels more confident about his Deck choice than ever; his Chaos Dragons have yet to let him down. In round 1, he defeated his opponent 2:0.
His round 2 match vs. a Greek Dino Rabbit player went to time. His opponent had 4 cards in hand and a Spirit Reaper on the field. He felt a little too confident, with Besnik finding an out in Mind Control to come out winning.
Round 3 was his hardest match so far. His opponent relied on Wind-Ups and he used the powerful combo to reduze Besnik’s hand size to 2 in the first game. Besnik still turned it around!
He couldn’t quite do the same in the second game, however, 2 copies of Maxx "C" in round 3 was all she wrote and that meant Besnik would remain undefeated!
Jaka ended up 3 – 2 in the Dragon Duel Championship. He had a good chance of making it to the Top 8, sitting on a 3 – 1 recored, however, he didn’t win the last round.
It seemed like things were meant to go his way, with his opponent receiving a Game Loss. What followed were 2 Future Fusion activations early game 2 and game 3, giving Jaka no chance but to ground his arms.
