Hi Katrin, what Deck are you playing today?
I had the chance to get my hands on [dante] so I decided to run Burning Abyss today, and thanks to [nech] the deck became even stronger. So far I’m doing fine, but unfortunately I just lost Round 9 so I can no longer make the Top 32.
What were your goals heading into this event?
To be honest I wanted to finish Day 1 with a 4:4 record, I’m really excited that I made it to Day 2. I’m a regular contender at the YCS torunaments, but never managed to make it to Day 2. Even though I cannot top anymore I will keep on playing the final 2 Rounds, because it’s really hard for some payers to accept that they just lost to a woman!
Why did start playing the [ygotcg]?
I’ve been playing the game for around 10 years now, I started playing through a friend of mine who had some cards at home. I really enjoyed it and we kept playing together on a regular basis. I still remember my first official tournament at Ludwigsburg in Germany. I had to take a few crushing defeats due to me being inexperienced, but I kept trying and improved as a player. Now I’m here sitting at Table 68 of a big YCS!
What is it that keeps you attracted to the game after all those years?
Well, that’s easy to answer: my friends. I’m really happy to meet them again at events like a YCS. I also like to trade a lot, that’s a big plus point as well.
Any final words?
I want to greet my friends and family. Oh, I nearly forgot: such big events also need a wardrobe. How’s a lady supposed to attend a YCS when she can’t treat herself properly? *laughs*
[abstand]

Thanks for this interview Katrin, proving that female Duelists can be powerful opponents indeed!
