Tournament coverage and the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Database
31.08.2013 | 11:43
Some of you may or may not be aware, but a lot of work goes in to providing tournament coverage of Europe’s top-level events. We’re constantly looking at ways to improve our content and make the interface as user-friendly as possible, so I’m delighted to be able to bring you a great update regarding how cards appear in our articles.
Thanks to Oli, our resident WordPress ninja, whenever you read a feature match and come across a card you may not have seen before (or just need a reminder of the card text) you can click on it to bring up the database page for that card!
To highlight the usefulness of this, here’s a sample paragraph from one of last year’s Feature Matches…
[quote]Vagelis Summoned Dark Valkyria and then Flip Summoned Twin-Headed Behemoth. Drillroid attacked Kennard’s face-down Mask of Darkness, allowing Kennard to get Ring of Destruction back from his Graveyard. Twin-Headed Behemoth attacked and destroyed Treeborn Frog next, and Dark Valkyria attacked directly.[/quote]
…and here’s one from today:
[quote]Groß attacked with [geaf] into [tardy], but Henebert had [chalice]. Groß chained [lance], making sure the attack would conclude in the way he wanted, leaving Henebert with 6300 Life Points. The attack of [tasuke] then got stopped by [mrs] and play proceeded with [mp] 2, in which Groß Tribute Summoned [barbaros]. He set 3 cards and ended.[/quote]
[br]As you can see, it’s a lot easier to read Feature Matches when you know what all of the cards do! What’s more, any article that has used our card shortcut system in the past is also updated, all the way back as far as 2010!
Hopefully you enjoy our awesome new feature and continue to increase your Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG knowledge![nbsp]
