Event Coverage: A Behind-the-Scenes look
We’ve been bringing you live coverage of Premier Events now for over four years with the first event all the way back at WCQ: European Championship 2010 in Birmingham. I’d like to think the coverage has evolved and developed tenfold since then and the feedback we get from a lot of players is that you agree. Recently we have been able to bring you the {stream} and I think this really adds a whole new dimension to the coverage you’re able to see of these events. I want to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what we do for the stream and how it all comes together – plus introduce you to the coverage team.

Finally, a little bit about our esteemed commentary team:
Matt, tell me a bit about your history with the game
MB: I’ve been in to the game since before it was printed in English – I played with my friend using translation sheets which told us what our cards did. Fast forward from that I started playing competitively when tournaments were popular, I won my first Regional in Southampton using [dad] and then got into judging. I kept volunteering for various activities and down the line was picked up by Konami as a Product Development Assistant. This is coming in to my fourth year with the company and quite simply I love my job. I love what I’m working on and who I’m working with and it’s just great fun!
Oli, can you tell me about your history with Yu-Gi-Oh! and the coverage side of things?
OG: I came out of playing because I was really bad at it back then. After a while I started judging and went to higher levels events until I was the Head Judge of the World Championship. After that I got in to the coverage side of things and have been doing that for five or six years now. It’s great and I really like that we have been able to evolve the coverage and provide more and more content over time. I really hope that everyone at home enjoys the live stream this weekend!
