Live broadcasting has been one of our most requested additions to event coverage!
Live broadcasting has been one of our most requested additions to event coverage!

[br]
Earlier this year, Konami Europe started broadcasting live video coverage from events, starting with the WCQ: European Championship in Amsterdam and following up with the 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship in Rimini. It has been a big success so far and we’d like to thank each and every one of you for tuning in.

Many Duelists who either missed an event or were competing in it would like to have an opportunity to re-watched the broadcast Matches, and to facilitate that we’ve recently started uploading them to YouTube, on Konami Europe’s official channel.

Finals: Marcel Burri (SWI – Lightsworn Dragons) vs. Eugen Heidt (GER – Mermail)

Today, it might, indeed, not “all come down to this” – after all, both of these players have already secured their ticket for the World Championship. Still, there’s a prestigious title on the line and since both of these players have already come thus far, they wanted to now go all the way and make their journey home all the more enjoyable with a title in their luggage.

Eugen Heidt was playing Mermail, a Deck that few players expected to see in Day 2 (too often), let alone in the finals of this year’s European Championship (at all)! He has never advanced to the knock out portion of an event as large as the European Championship before, but maybe this was the reason why he was so hard to make out?!

Marcel Burri, from Switzerland, on the other hand, has tasted glory before. He is a former National Champion and with every event he attended, he has come closer to scoring a big win at a major event like the YCS. He already made it to the knock out rounds in both Berlin, Paris and Leipzig, but he was never among the final 8, so he flew a little under our radar.

With the introductions now out of the way, let’s get this party started!

Top 4: Andrea Zenari (ITA) vs Eugen Heidt (GER)

This is probably the most relaxed round of the whole day. With both of these players having secured their place on Team Europe the atmosphere is far less tense. We have seen Zenari earlier using his Bujin Deck to power through the last remaining Madolche Duelist. Heidt is here from Germany and using Mermails to destroy all of the competition he has come up against. Now that the hard part – getting to the World Championship – is done, they are playing for the fame and fortune that comes with being crowned European Champion. Who will proceed to the finals? Let’s find out!
