Finals: Besnik Kajtazi (Mermail) vs. Alpay Engin (Mermail)
1208 players showed up for YCS Berlin, making this the third European event in a row that attracted more than 1000 Duelists! After 11 rounds of Swiss and 4 more rounds in the knock out portion of the event, only 2 players remained: Alpay Engin and Besnik Kajtazi!
Alpay Engin has been on quite the roll as of late; 366 days ago, he won YCS Bochum, the back then largest European Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series. Ever since, he’s been a regular, finishing one impressive result after another. To add another title to his resume, however, he now needs to overcome Besnik Kajtazi.
While newer followers of the coverage might not be as familiar with him, you shouldn’t mistake him for the underdog; he won tournaments back in 2008 before an illness forced him to take a break from Dueling. Now he’s back, more motivated than ever and he’ll try absolutely everything to stop Alpay’s engine!
Semi Finals: Besnik Kajtazi (Mermail) vs. Aris Samaras (Geargia)
We’ve made it to the semi finals and this is where Besnik Kajtazi needs to overcome Aris Samaras to keep his dream of becoming a YCS Winner alive! Kajtazi is running Mermails while Samaras pilots the only Geargia Deck left in competition.
