It’s been a long and arduous journey for our players at YCS Paris. After 10 rounds of swiss and 32 player knockout we can finally name our winner! Lets take a look at our finalists and their fabulous prizes:

IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS! For the fourth time in his life, Peter Groß is playing in the finals of a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series. He relies on one of the most popular Decks of this weekend’s competition: Mermails! “If you can’t join them, beat them!” is what he explained in his Top 8 profile.
On the other side of the table, we got the hometown hero Aoued Benabdallah who relies on a Deck that no one was expecting to see in the finals: Evilswarm. After this event, there’s a good chance that he’ll be known as the “legend killer”, having already kicked out his fellow countryman Vincent Ralambomiadana in the quarter finals.

Back to all newsGiant Attack of the Giant Card has been a sealed event today. Not only has it been sealed, it has been draft. Draft play for those who don’t know is where packs are opened and instead of playing what you pull you pick one card from the pack you open and pass it to the person on your right or left. This allows you to pick and choose what cards to use in your Deck rather than be stuck with whatever you pull. Draft play requires a lot more skill than Sealed Pack play because you’re not only picking you own cards but now have the ability to stop your opponent getting the cards they need for their Deck.

Welcome to the semi-finals! Peter Gross’s task today was a tall order… It’s the top 4 feature match and he faces off against Lorenzo Santoni! It’s a Mermail mirror match! I predicted this! Will Peter play the Mighty Mermalian Monsters he needs or will Lorenzo play his Fish of Fury in time?!

We’re nearing the conclusion of YCS Paris 2014. We just took a few photographs to complete our Top 8 Profiles and 2 of those players will now have to go up against each other: Vincent [rala] and Aoued Benabdallah.
That means it’s an all French affair in the quarter finals with [rala] relying on the Bujin Deck while Benabdallah puts his trust in the Evilswarm archetype. (more…)
