This week the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series returns to London!

It’s almost time, [ycs] London is only a few days away!
[br]
Last year’s YCS was the largest ever to be held in Europe, while also bringing something special that you don’t get at any other Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG event. As with last year, YCS London 2014 will be taking place alongside MCM Comic Con London, one of the largest popular culture shows in Europe! When you’re not unleashing your Dueling skills on players from all over Europe, you can check out a huge number of attractions, so many in fact that we can’t possibly list them all here. Head on over to the MCM Comic Con London website for all the details!
[br]
Getting back to the YCS however, here’s a preview of what’s going to happen this weekend, along with all the links you need to keep up-to-date.

General Information
Here is the YCS London page on yugioh-card.com, which should give you a comprehensive overview of the events that take place, scheduling, prizes etc.

As this event is somewhat unique in terms of registration, you can find full details here.

If this is your first time visiting ExCeL London, you may need a little help navigating London’s transport system. In that case, this page will show you all the ways you can get to the tournament venue.

At 02:00 on Sunday morning, the clocks in the UK will go back 1 hour as British Summer Time ends. Please make sure to adjust your watches, phones and alarms accordingly. On the plus-side, you get an extra hour of sleep (or an extra hour of Dueling!) on the Saturday night, which will be especially useful if you’ve been playing all day in the main event!

Celebrate the launch of Legendary Collection 5D’s in style!
In addition to the YCS, there will also be a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG stand (run by Hazam Games and Konami UK) within the MCM Comic Con itself; here are some pics of the stand from last year. There are a wide range of activities that will take place there, such as Sealed Pack masterclasses, open Dueling and much more. There are also 2 very special features that will be of particular interest to YCS attendees.

The first is that the Konami UK stand is the only place where you can buy the Shooting Quasar Dragon Game Mat! This Game Mat is exclusive to this event, and once it’s sold out it won’t be available again, making it the ultimate collectible for fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s and Synchro Monsters! The Game Mat will be available at a cost of £15 and is first-come, first-served, so make sure to get your copy at the event before it’s too late!

Secondly, the Konami UK stand has teamed up with the YCS to celebrate the launch of Legendary Collection 5D’s, where a special event will be held in the YCS hall! If you purchase Legendary Collection 5D’s at the Konami UK stand, you will be given free entry to a special GIANT ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!! tournament, where you can win a giant Shooting Quasar Dragon!

In addition, this event will also award top performing Duelists with free entry to the next YCS, Deck Boxes, Game Mats and Qualification spots for the 2015 WCQ: European Championship! This event takes place on Sunday at 10.00, and you can only enter by purchasing Legendary Collection 5D’s.

Gear up for another Giant Card event!
This past weekend, official tournament stores across Europe held a special event to celebrate the launch of the Geargia Rampage Structure Deck, where you used the Deck to win a Game Mat featuring all of the Geargia monsters!

At YCS London, Duelists will get an opportunity to compete in a special GIANT ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!! event where the winner gets to take home a giant Geargiauger. That’s not all however, as every competitor in this event will also take home a Geargia Rampage Structure Deck and a Geargia Rampage Game Mat! This event takes place on Sunday at 12:00.

Carnival Activities at YCS London!
With the YCS being integrated into MCM Comic Con London, there will be many new faces at the venue who will be experiencing Yu-Gi-Oh! for the first time. To show them just how fun the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand can be, we will also be hosting a wide range of brand activities at YCS London, many of which you’ll have seen at this year’s World Championship! Here’s a brief overview of some of the activities you can take part in at YCS London:

Follow all the action LIVE!
Of course, the big attraction for many Duelists will be the [ycs] Main Event. For Duelists from the UK, this will be the biggest event of the year, and provide many with a chance to prove themselves against the top Duelists from Europe (and beyond). “Household names” like Joshua Schmidt, Peter Groß, Alpay Engin and Eugen Heidt will once again be bringing their top Decks and strategies to London in an attempt to win another YCS event. Last year’s winner Patrik Rieder will also be present to defend his YCS London title.

Throughout the weekend, we will once again be providing a live broadcast, which you can follow here. Oliver Gehrmann and Matthew Bell will once again be providing live commentary and analysis of the top matches from the YCS, whereas myself and Rudolf Weissinger will be keeping you all up-to-date with the latest Standings and written articles to provide you all with the best coverage experience possible.

In addition, we will be exclusively revealing some exciting new things coming up so be sure to tune in!
[br]
As you can see, there’s many things to look forward to at [ycs] London this weekend. If you’re heading to London we hope you all have a fantastic time , and for those watching from home we hope you enjoy our event coverage!

[ycs] London will take place on October 25/26, 2014.
