Hitting 1000 Articles

Every so often, we take the time to take a look back and reflect on some of our past events. Today is the third time that the [ycs] is coming to France and while that’s certainly another good reason to reminisce and celebrate, I wanted to put the focus on a related piece of news: We’ve now published a whopping 1.000 articles on our official coverage page!

We have been covering the following events:

  • 1 World Championship
  • 3 World Championship Qualifiers – European Championship
  • 10 [ycs] (including the anniversary YCS in Long Beach)

This translates to an average of 71 articles per event! While some of them are “only” a short update on what Duelists are currently on top of the field or who’s facing who in the knock out portion of the event, other articles easily add up to around 3.000 words when two players are duking it out in one of our Feature Matches, fighting for pride and glory!

We hope you’ve all enjoyed our past features and you’re looking forward to the next 1.000 articles that will provide you with live updates from Lille as well as the upcoming events like the WCQ: European Championship 2013 in Frankfurt later this year!

Speaking of today’s event, we were able to pretty much match the attendance of YCS Paris (852 Duelists) with 828 players showing up for this weekend’s premier Yu-Gi-Oh! event! If you’d like to check out again what’s been happening at the first [ycs] in France, check out this article: YCS Paris Flashback.

As you can see, back in 2011, Six Samurai were the most feared Deck in the field, which is ironic considering that we’ve seen them ending up under the wheels of the Geargia archetype in our Round 1 Feature Match.

Also today, PJ will present you with a quick wrap-up of what’s been going on in Toulouse back in 2012, so you can already look forward to that!
