National Champions Profile – Greece

Rodois Ilias is getting an exclusive Champions Profile. He’s the last of this year’s champions we managed to grab for an interview. Here’s his views on Berlin and the current metagame.
Rodios Ilias
Name: Rodios Ilias
Age: 18
Country: Greece, Athens

What Deck did you win your Nationals with and what Deck are you playing today? Burning Abyss, I couldn’t get my hands on Phantom Knight cards and I played the deck for a very long time. So I was very familiar with the deck and decided to run a similiar build at Euros.

Who was your toughest opponent at your National Championship? That was my friend Aris Samaras during Swiss. We went into time. He lured me into attacking into Drowning Mirror Force. That cost me the game.

Have you gained any more recognition because of your National Championship win? Not really, we are a small community of good players and we all know each other well.

How did you prepare for this event?? I haven’t played a lot since my Nationals. But I took some time to playtest with my friends at the hotel.

Finally, have you had a chance to explore Berlin yet? I want to but I didn’t find the time yet. Probably tomorrow depending on my progress.
