Policies and rules for the WCQ: European Championship
14.07.2010 | 14:07
Every competition – be it chess, ice dancing or soccer – needs rules that govern how the competition is run (for soccer, the most important rule currently is “Spain is unbeatable” :) ). A Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME tournament is no exception; it too needs rules that govern what players are allowed to do, how pairings work, which cards are allowed, and so on.
Konami’s goal is to offer high-quality events across the globe; To make sure that all Duelists can enjoy theYu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME under the same conditions, all TCG events and tournaments need to adhere to the same guidelines and rules. These have been condensed into a set of documents:
– „Official TRADING CARD GAME Tournament Policy”
– „Official Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Tournament Policy“
– “Official Tournament Penalty Guidelines“
– The Forbidden & Limited Cards List.
Every Duelist playing in high-level events like the WCQ: European Championship should be familiar with those policies and with rights and duties.
Because these documents are quite new, several copies will be publically available for reading at the EC registration desk and at the stage. We strongly recommend that you have a look at them, so that you know what Duelists, judges and tournament organizers can expect from each other.
