Public Events and Dragon Duel at the YCS Paris

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH offers many exciting activities during the two YCS days, namely a feature match area where you can watch the top Duels of the main event, and a wide selection of Public Events, ranging from casual to highly-competitive events. Many of those events are free of charge and offer Booster Packs or Turbo Packs as participation prizes, and you shouldn’t miss the chance to Duel in at least one of them!

One of the most important Public Events is the Dragon Duel event, where Duelists born 1998 or later can compete for the title and for cool prizes. No prior qualification is necessary, so take your chance to Duel against players from across Europe! The Dragon Duel event starts at 11:00 on Sunday and has an entry fee of EUR 3,-. Each participants will receive 1 Booster as participation prize, plus the chance to win other exciting prizes!

There will also be “ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!” events in Paris. They are 32-player single-elimination events, and the winner will walk away with an oversized Yu-Gi-Oh! card, appx. 1 meter high!


A maximum of four events will be offered, with the following six cards being available: Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier, Odin, Father of Aesir, Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier and, as a special Extreme Victory preview cards, T.G. Halberd Cannon!

Another highlight will take place on Sunday: At the “YCS Trial”, Duelists get the chance to win flight and accomodation to one of 2011’s European Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series. This Trial event will hold a maximum of 256 players who will duel in Swiss-style rounds for this exciting prize! Start time for the YCS Trials is Sunday, 9:30.

To celebrate the release of Turbo Pack 5, there will also be special Turbo Pack 5 events: 32 participants can Duel in this single-elimination events and win Turbo Packs for each round they win. There will be additional packs for the winner and the runner-up. These event start on Saturday at 14:00 and on Sunday at 11:30. Please note that if you win Turbo Packs 5 in this event, you can’t play those cards in other events until after Turbo Pack 5 is officially released.

Apart from those individual events, there will be 8-player knockout tournaments, Duelist League events, and 16-player Win-a-Mat tournaments (while supplies last) all weekend long.

You see, attending the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series will be a blast for everyone – even if you don’t want to play in the main event, you are very welcome to drop by and celebrate your favourite Trading Card Game with Duelists from all across Europe!
