Public Events at YCS Leipzig

KONAMI offers many exciting activities during those two days, namely a feature match area where you can watch the top Duels of the main event, and a wide selection of Public Events, ranging from casual to highly-competive events.

This time, participating in Public Events will be more interesting than ever! On Sunday afternoon, there will be two special Public Events Playoffs. For those playoffs, players will earn points whenever they participate in a Public Event. Each event participation is worth 1 point, and winning an event is worth additional points. The Top 4 points collectors will be chosen for one of the playoffs, and four additional Public Events participants will be randomly chosen. Each of those two four-player single-elimination events offers a Super Rare YCS “Blood Mefist” prize card for the winner – the same card you can win in the YCS Main event!

There will also be “ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!” events in Leipzig. They are 32-player single-elimination events, and the winner will walk away with an oversized Yu-Gi-Oh! card, appx. 1 meter high!

A maximum of six events will be offered, with the following six cards being available: Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician, Number C39: Utopia Ray, Tour Bus from the Underworld, Gagaga Girl, and White Dragon Ninja!

Another highlight will take place on Sunday: At the “YCS Trial”, Duelists get the chance to win flight and accomodation to the anniversary YCS in Long Beach, USA. This Trial event will hold a maximum of 128 players who will duel in Swiss-style rounds for this exciting prize! Start time for the YCS Trial is Sunday, 9:30.

There will also be a Dragon Duel event open for Duelists born 1999 or later. The Top 4 Duelists will qualify to the WCQ: European Dragon Duel Championship.

Apart from those individual events, there will be Duelist League events, WCQ: Regionals and Win-a-Mat tournaments (while supplies last) all weekend long.

You see, attending the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series will be a blast for everyone – even if you don’t want to play in the main event, you are very welcome to drop by and celebrate your favourite Trading Card Game with Duelists from all across Europe!
