Public Events Extravaganza

23.02.2013 | 22:33 |

[p]We had quite a few players that traveled to Bochum for one reason and one reason only: Having fun in the Public Events! Their day started with a shock as the first announcement of the day that was directed towards them stated: We’re overwhelmed by the huge attendance this weekend, but unfortunately, we ran out of space to hold any Public Events. Please give us some time to adapt.

With more and more players dropping out of the Main Event, things certainly brightened up for all the Duelists that felt like enrolling in the Public Events. Let’s see what they’ve been up to once we got the ball rolling!

Things didn’t quite turn out well for Marcel Tietz in the Main Event. He made the most of his chances by dropping out of it and trying his luck in the Public Events. He was rewarded for taking the initiative with a win in one of the Regionals we’ve held today! That meant he walked away with not only a qualification for the World Championship Qualifier: European Championship 2013, he’s also a brand new owner of a stunning Prophecy playmat!

For Tuan P. Hong, it paid out big time enrolling in the Public Events!

Tuan P. Hong shared a similar fate; he didn’t draw into his most important combo pieces while the Main Event was still underway, forcing him to drop. He enrolled in the Attack of the Giant Card event instead where he overcame the competition to emerge victorious, making him the owner of an oversized [snatch]! He’s now waiting for the next Battle Pack tournament where he might be able to play with a normal sized version of the card.

That’s still not all, though! We also ran a whopping 34 Win-A-Mat events and on top of that, we saw more than 50 players enroll in the Duelist League! So there was in fact plenty to do for all attendees of the YCS Bochum 2013, not just the Duelists that continued to do well in the Main Event.
