Public Events Extravaganza
[p]While the Main Event is about to reach its epic conclusion shortly, the Public Events registration has been busy all day long! I had a word with our scorekeeper Christian Zierke who updated me on how things were going!

The largest Public Event is obviously our YCS Trial, boasting a whopping 122 players! All of them wanted to win a free trip to the next European Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series and the competition was fierce despite this being one of the “side events”.

Some players preferred to enroll in some of the smaller events, though, and we offered plenty of these as well. We were able to run an impressive 28 Win-A-Mat tournaments with 8 competitors each. This wasn’t that surprising, considering one of the possible prizes (that the winner got to choose) was the Battle Pack Epic Dawn playmat that has only been given out at the launch events when the Battle Pack first came out. So if you’ve been missing out on these exciting events earlier, you now had a chance to get your hands on the mat!

Another popular Public Event this weekend were the WCQ Regionals. We were able to run 13 of these events with 16 players each. Christian told me that there was something special about that event, too, and it also involved a playmat:

Last, but certainly not least, we held 3 ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD! events over the course of the weekend. Yesterday, we already gave out the Seal of Orichalcos and today, 2 more Giant Cards followed!

What else? Well, we also had the Dragon Duel event that we talked about in another article earlier as well as the Duelist League. 30 players tried that luck in this very casual event and all of them had quite a blast!

So there you have it! More Public Events than a single person can enroll in over the course of 2 days. That’s the excitement we call a YCS, so make sure you show up in February when we go back to Bochum!
