QQ: How did you get here?

[p]QQ stands for Quick Questions! We brainstormed and came up with a couple of questions we’ll be asking players this weekend. To kick things off, I wanted to know how players got here in the first place and whether they had also been to the YCS Bochum back in 2010.[/p][nbsp]

Michel Vermaes, Thomas Wijnberg, Stephan Janssen and Jorn Moerkerk all came from the Netherlands!

[p]Where are you from and how did you guys get here?
[/p][p]
Thomas: We’re from Gelderland, one of the provinces in the Netherlands and we got here by train. It took us 2 hours and it was quite an enjoyable ride.
[/p][p]
Did you also attend YCS Bochum back in 2010?
[/p][p]
Michel: Unfortunately not; we didn’t play competitively back in the days.
[/p][p]
Ah, I see. So did you come prepared this time and what are your expectations for the weekend?
[/p][p]
Stephan: Our main goal is to advance to day 2 and then see how far we can go.[br]
Jorn: We do feel prepared, though. We trained a lot and know about the popular decks.[/p]

[/p][p]
André & Mirco: We’re from Tönning and Kiel, respectively. (That’s up in the far north of Germany and the guys told me it’s even colder there than it is right here at the moment.)
It was a rather relaxed 4 hour ride by car and we took a few breaks in between. It definitely wasn’t too bad.
[/p][p]
Did you also attend the YCS Bochum 2010?
[/p][p]
André: Honestly, I can’t remember… that’s quite a while back.
Mirco: Of course we’ve been there! We’ve also been at YCS Leipzig and you can basically find us at every somewhat larger event.
[/p][p]
What are your expectations for the weekend?
[/p][p]
Mirco: I want to reach Day 2. Then again, it’s the first time I’m playing the deck at a larger event (we’re both playing Firefist) and I don’t feel like I know it inside out by now.
André: I’m mostly playing for fun![/p]

[p]Where are you guys from and how did you guys get here?
[/p][p]
Adam: We all play in Dublin, Ireland and we all flew here at various times (some on Thursday and the rest followed on Friday).
[/p][p]
Did you also attend the YCS Bochum back in 2010?
[/p][p]
Stephen: Just me. I also participated in the Euros last year. For Adam, Petru, Mungo and Andrew, it’s the first YCS!
[/p][p]
What are your expectations for the weekend?
[/p][p]
Andrew: Win! And have a good time afterwards!
[p]So you said you were taking a break? How come?
[/p][p]
Hayri: Quite frankly, I simply didn’t have the time anymore. After I was done with school, I started to focus on getting a good job and that kept me rather busy. I’m from Bielefeld, which is quite close, so I felt like I had to attend this time!
[/p][p]
So how did you get here and how was the ride?
[/p][p]
Hayri: I took the car. It only took me roughly 1,5 hours to get here.
[/p][p]
What are your expectations for the weekend?
[/p][p]
Hayri: I want to end up on a positive record. After my long break, a 5 – 4 record would be a win in my book and I won’t drop even if I start out slow![/p]
[p]
So there you have it! These 4 groups of players travelled far and wide to be able to attend YCS Bochum and they all have different expectations. I for one will keep my fingers crossed for them and hope we’ll welcome them to our top tables at one point or another![/p]
