QQ: What anime card would you like to see in the TCG?

01.12.2013 | 16:34 |
The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise spans more than 10 years of impressive history and the game is still going strong. A big part of its success story is the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime that has always accompanied the game, adding a rich background story to the Trading Card Game. I asked Duelists in attendance today about their favorite show and which anime cards they would like to see in the TCG, so let's see whether they preferred the original series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, 5D's or ZEXAL.

We can't quite decide which card we would like to see, ever since The Seal of Orichalcos got released, there doesn't seem to be that much left that didn't make an appearance in the TCG...

Yugi and Kaiba for the win! We grew up with the original show, so it's not even close. Regarding a card we would like to see, there was this "Castle of Gold" card (Golden Castle of Stromberg) that seemed like it could easily win games all on its own. It couldn't get destroyed by effects and it had plenty of other effects to deal with whatever your opponent was throwing at you.

I preferred the original series. It seemed to have the coolest characters. There was this card that came up in the second series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. I think it was called "Dark Corridor" and it was a Dark World support card. It allowed you to add a Dark World monster from your Deck to your hand and you then had to discard a card from your hand. Maybe if you limit it to 1 copy per Deck, it might not "break the game" and help the archetype put up stronger numbers in future tournaments?

There was an episode with a lot of "Fairytale" monsters like the "Big Wolf" and "Cinderella" and all those references to popular fairytales. It was great to watch and I would certainly like to see such a Deck. The character playing these cards was called Leo Wilson (at least in France).

Do you still remember the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and some of the cards that were played in it? What card would you like to see make an appearance in the TCG?
