Round 10: Piran Asci (Germany) vs Anthony Tutu (Germany)

This is the last Swiss round of the day! Both of these Duelists know each other and are from Germany, Tutu is from Cologne while Asci is from Berlin. Only one of these Duelists would be making it to the top 32 cut, while one would be heading to watch the rest of the event on the big screen upstairs! How would this end? Let’s find out!

Tutu won the dice roll and decided not to re-draw, his opponent also decided to keep his hand and so Tutu drew his sixth card. He set a monster and activated [steelcage], before adding another [st].

Asci [ns]ed [evo ch], and gave it [fighting spirit]. He also set a [st]. Tutu Flip Summoned [slate] and passed without any further plays.

Asci Second Summoned his Chevalier, using it’s effect to send Fighting Spirit to the graveyard and target Tutu’s set [kunai], which was chained. He used [grarl] on it and then sent that, too, to destroy Slate Warrior. Steelcage was over at the end of the turn.

Tutu [ss]ed [pho thrasher] and attacked the Chevalier, destroying it. Asci [ns]ed [steamroid] and attacked but found [mow] which destroyed it. He set another card taking him to two backrow and passed.

When Thrasher attacked next turn [d gate] revived [steamroid] – Tutu set a backrow.

Asci Summoned [chiron] and pitched [b winds] to destroy Tutu’s set [ris ene] – attacks followed and Thrasher went down along with some of Tutu’s LP. He returned with a set card to each zone.

When Asci attacked next turn he walked straight into… [cyber jar]! This revealed five cards from the top of both player’s Decks and [ss]ed all level four or lower monsters. Asci ended up with an [ape] and [ddwl] both in attack while Tutu got a [bull blader] – also in attack. It was still Asci’s battle phase and Ape Fighter ran through Bull Blader, getting destroyed in the process. D.D. Warrior Lady attacked directly and Asci set to two [st]s to take him to three total.

Tutu Summoned [cguard] and sent it to attack [ddwl] – running into [ego]. With her ego boosted the Warrior lady easily took down the Guard in battle, and Tutu set a card giving him two backrow in total.

Asci had [reborn]! He used it to revive [chiron] from the graveyard and thanks to Cyber Jar he had some Spells to discard. One of them was [star blast] and it targeted [mrs] which was chained – but still met a sticky end. When attacks were made [m lotus] provided the extra damage needed to win the game!

Both players took advantage of the Re-Draw Rule in the second game and then Tutu started things off with a set to each zone.

Asci came back with [pog] and then [ss]ed [cd], attacking over the set [steamroid]. A set [st] concluded his turn.

Tutu simply set a monster… could it be a Cyber Jar again?

It was! Cyber Dragon attacked in to it and five cards were revealed for each player. Asci got an [ape], [bull blader] and [chiron] all in attack. Tutu got his own Bull Blader in attack as well as a [copycat] which copied the stats of Ape Fighter. Still in his battle phase, Asci crashed Ape Fighter into Copycat and Chiron into Bull Blader – using his own Blader to strike directly.

ANOTHER CYBER JAR!!!! Boom boom.

Asci set backrows to three total in his [mp2] and passed. Tutu had one set [st] and, after drawing, eight cards in hand.

He [ss]ed [pho thrasher] and attacked Blader, running into [impene]. He chained [econ] to take control of the Blader and tribute it in [mp2] for [pms]. He took 1000 damage at the end of his turn.

Asci [ss]ed [cd] and [ns]ed [alexandrite]. [b winds] was next on Alexandrite, which then had enough attack to run over the Mech. Cyber Dragon attacked directly and Tutu was left on 3200LP.

He Summoned his own [alexandrite] and equipped his opponent’s Cyber Dragon with [cursed armaments]. Ego Boost ruined his day when he went to attack it.

[nbsp]
Asci [ns]ed [steamroid] and went to attack with everything for the win, but Tutu had a [fader]! Asci passed.

Tutu discarded [drill] to [ss] [tricky]. He [ns]ed [cguard] and it gave it’s counter to Tricky. Guard was sent to attack Cyber Dragon and did so successfully. This allowed him to put the curse of Cursed Armaments on [alexandrite]. Tricky ran over it and the curse moved to Steamroid. Tutu passed.

Asci thought carefully about his move, [ns]ing [ddwl] before flipping his set [reborn] to bring back [bull blader]! In the Battle Phase, Blader attacked Battle Fader, Warrior Lady Banished The Tricky, and Steamroid ran over Card Guard.

Tutu [ns]ed [gww] and attacked [steamroid], transferring the curse to Bull Blader.

Asci activated [star blast]! He paid 2000 to [ns] [dmoc] from his hand! He had plenty of Spells to chose from in his grave, would it be an attack booster, [pog] or [reborn]? It was the latter, used to revive [chiron]!

A flurry of Summons from Asci secured him the match win!

Chiron’s effect took out Tutu’s last [st] and that gave him more than enough damage on the field to end the game and take him sailing in to the top 32!

[h2]Congratulations to Piran Asci who overcomes his friend Anthony Tutu 2-0![h2]
