Round 2: Lukas Calovini (BubbleBeat) vs. Piran Asci (Wind-Ups)

It’s time for Round 2! Lukas Calovini was given a Deck profile earlier on today and after winning his first Match today it’s time to see his deck in action. He’s up against Berlin Duelist Piran Asci, who’s brought Wind-Ups to the table. Let’s see how they get on!

Hopefully we'll see Calovini's Deck pull out all the stops.

Calovini won the die roll, chose to go first, and he started by Setting 4 Spells and Traps!

Asci started this Match with [tour], Summoning [bus] before Calovini destroyed both with [tt]. Tour Bus returned Tour Guide to Asci’s Deck. He Set 2 Spell/Trap cards to finish his turn.

Calovini drew (a second) [ocean] and Summoned it before declaring an attack. It went through and Asci went down to 6500 Life Points. Calovini Set another card and Asci destroyed it ([warning]) with [mst] in the End Phase.

Asci [ss]ed [b]Gilasaurus[/b]! He then followed up with [instant] to get [b]Flame Ghost[/b] from his Extra Deck. Calovini responded with [bom], flipping [gil] face-down. Asci Normal Summoned [w rat] and then activated [w fac]. Calovini used [ced] to send [b]Flame Ghost[/b] back to the Extra Deck.

Calovini Normal Summoned [bubble] and took down Rat, while Ocean took care of [b]Gilasaurus[/b]. Calovini set a card to finish.

Asci [ns]ed [w hun] and attacked [ocean], destroying it.

Calovini drew [alius] and Summoned it, before destroying Hunter to allow Bubbleman to attack directly.

Asci played [reborn]! He Summoned [w rat] and activated its effect. Calovini Chained [mst] to destroy [w fac] and prevent Asci from getting a free card. Asci Summoned [w hun] with Rat’s effect and combined both to Summon [w maity]. Zenmaity detached Hunter to get another Rat, and that Rat brought back Hunter. Asci overlaid both to Summon another Zenmaity, and got another Rat from his Deck. Rat brought back Hunter again and this time Asci Xyz Summoned [zenmaines]. Zenmaines ran into [alius] and Asci detached Hunter to keep it alive. Zenmaity took down Bubbleman and in the End Phase, Zenmaity destroyed Neos Alius with its effect. An explosive turn!

Calovini drew [dustshoot], which wasn’t useful right now, but he Set it anyway.

Asci drew for his turn and that Set Dustshoot was making him think (he had [storm] in-hand but was fearing [road], which funnily enough was the other Set card). He detached 2 [w rat][s] from his 2 [w maity][s] to Summon 2 [w rabbit][s], and all of his monsters then attacked for game!

Asci takes the lead!

One more Duel like that and he'd be 2-0 for the day.

Calovini would go first in Duel 2 and did so with [ecall], adding [stratos] to his hand before Summoning it. Stratos added [alius] to Calovini’s hand as he played [pod], revealing [b]The Warrior Returning Alive[/b], [super poly] and [drain]. He added [super poly] to his hand and shuffled the other 2 cards back, Set 2 Spells or Traps and ended his turn.

Asci destroyed [super poly] in the Standby Phase with [mst] and then played another to get rid of [ced]! Calovini Chained it and returned Stratos to his hand. Asci [ns]ed [w mag] and [ss]ed [w shark]. Another [w mag] was Summoned followed by [w hun]. Hunter’s effect Tributed the first Magician and Calovini discarded [bth]. Hunter and Shark were combined to Summon [w maity], which detached Hunter to Summon [w rat]. Asci had the Wind-Up loop in full swing now and the end result was as follows: Asci controlled [zenmaines] and [w maity] and 2 cards in hand. Calovini only had [tt] in hand.

Calovini drew [pod] and added [hole] to his hand. He played it and Asci lost his Zenmaity. Zenmaines protected itself and lost its second material in the End Phase.

Asci Summoned [tkr] and attacked with both monsters and Set [mst].

Calovini Set [bth] and lost it to Asci’s set card, and 1 turn later it was all over!

Piran Asci wound his opponent up and remains undefeated!
