07.07.2012 | 23:17 |

Italy’s Luigi Massimo Bellocchio was the head judge at YCS Milan a few years ago, and now he’s back in Milan, this time trying his luck as a Duelist! He’s using a Six Samurai Deck, empowered by the new Shadow of the Six Samurai – Shien, and he’s facing off against Greece’s Stavros Vitsentsatos and his Wind-Up Deck! Both Duelists currently have a 5-2 record, so a victory here will put one of these Duelists in much better shape for a top finish.

Duel One

Vitsentsatos started off Duel 1 by Setting a card to his back row and Summoning Wind-Up Rabbit.

Bellocchio opened up with Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki, Solemn Warning, Musakani Magatama, Hand of the Six Samurai, Maxx “C”, and Heavy Storm. He used Heavy Storm to destroy Vitsentsatos’s face-down Torrential Tribute and then Normal Summoned Kageki. He tried activating its effect, but its effect was negated by Vitsentsatos’s Effect Veiler. Bellocchio Set Musakani Magatama and Solemn Warning before ending his turn.

Vitsentsatos activated Mind Control to take control of Kageki and then activated Instant Fusion; but Bellocchio negated it with Solemn Warning. Vitsentsatos combined Wind-Up Rabbit with Kageki next, in order to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity, and then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Magician. Vitsentsatos used his Zenmaity’s effect by detaching an Xyz Material, and Bellocchio discarded Maxx “C”. Vitsentsatos Special Summoned Wind-Up Hunter from his Deck with Zenmaity’s effect, allowing Bellocchio to draw a card. Then he Tributed his Magician to use Hunter’s effect and send Shien’s Smoke Signal from Bellocchio’s hand to his Graveyard.

Bellocchio Special Summoned Elder of the Six Samurai in Defense Position and then Normal Summoned Hand of the Six Samurai. He attacked and destroyed Zenmaity with Hand, and then Tributed his Elder to activate his Hand’s effect and destroy Wind-Up Hunter.

Vitsentsatos Set a card to his back row and passed.

Bellocchio attacked directly with Hand of the Six Samurai and then Set a card to his back row.

Vitsentsatos activated Pot of Avarice! He sent Wind-Up Hunter, Wind-Up Magician, Wind-Up Rabbit, Effect Veiler, and Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity back to his Deck to draw 2 cards. He Set a monster and ended his turn.

Bellocchio drew Double-Edged Sword Technique and then attacked Vitsentsatos’s face-down monster with his Hand; but Vitsentsatos used Book of Moon to put Hand face-down. Bellocchio Set Double-Edged Sword Technique before ending his turn.

Vitsentsatos drew a card and passed.

Bellocchio flipped his face-down Six Samurai United face-up and then Flip Summoned Hand of the Six Samurai. He activated Double-Edged Sword Technique to Special Summon Kageki and Elder and then sent Six Samurai United to the Graveyard. Next, he Tuned Kageki with Kagemusha to Synchro Summon Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En! Bellocchio attacked Vitsentsatos’s face-down Wind-Up Rat with Kageki to destroy it, and attacked directly with Hand of the Six Samurai and Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En. Vitsentsatos dropped down to 300 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Bellocchio combined his Hand and Kageki to Xyz Summon M-X-Saber Invoker in Attack Position!

Vitsentsatos activated Monster Reborn, but Bellocchio negated it with Shi En’s effect. Next, Bellocchio activated Soul Taker, and Bellocchio flipped Musakani Magatama to negate it. Unable to destroy Shi En, Vitsentsatos offered the handshake!

Bellocchio drew Kagemusha of the Six Samurai and Normal Summoned it. He Special Summoned Grandmaster of the Six Samurai next, and Vitsentsatos used Solemn Warning to pay 2000 Life Points and negate its Summon; but Vitsentsatos just used his Grandmaster’s effect to return it to his hand after it hit the Graveyard!

It's usually not a good idea to use Solemn Warning against Grandmaster of the Six Samurai.

Bellocchio Special Summoned Grandmaster back to the field and then attacked Vitsentsatos’s face-down monster with it. Vitsentsatos flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to try to destroy Rivalry of Warlords, but Bellocchio used Musakani Magatama to negate the Mystical Space Typhoon! Snowman Eater flipped face-up and destroyed Kagemusha before it was taken down by Grandmaster in battle. Messenger of Peace works well with Wind-Ups!

Bellocchio activated Gateway of the Six and then Normal Summoned Legendary Six Samurai – Kageki. He added 2 Bushido Counters to his Gateway and then ended his turn.

Vitsentsatos chose not to keep his Messenger of Peace in play at his next Standby Phase and then used a Wind-Up Rabbit’s effect to have it banish itself. He used Zenmaity’s effect next, and detached an Xyz Material to Special Summon Wind-Up Shark from his Deck. He used the effect of his other Zenmaity to Special Summon another Wind-Up Shark from his Deck, and then raised the Level of both Sharks to Level 5! Vitsentsatos Combined both Sharks to Summon Tiras, Keeper of Genesis. He attacked Grandmaster with Tiras, and Bellocchio’s Grandmaster was destroyed by battle. Bellocchio dropped down to 6500 Life Points. At the end of the Battle Phase, Tiras’s effect activated, and Bellocchio negated it with Musakani Magatama; but Tiras’s effect prevented it from being destroyed by Musakani Magatama! Tiras detached an Xyz Material in the End Phase and play passed to Bellocchio.

Bellocchio drew a card and Set it.

Tiras lost an Xyz Material in the End Phase, and play passed back to Bellocchio.

Bellocchio drew The Six Samurai – Zanji and Summoned it, adding 2 more Bushido Counters to his Gateway; but first, Vitsentsatos flipped Torrential Tribute to clear the field! Bellocchio removed 4 Bushido Counters from Gateway to search his Deck for a Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan to add to his hand and then ended his turn.

Vitsentsatos returned both of his banished Rabbits to the field in Attack Position at his next Standby Phase and then Normal Summoned Wind-Up Hunter. He attacked directly with both Rabbits and the Hunter.

Hunting Rabbits

He Tributed a Rabbit using Hunter’s effect in Main Phase 2, forcing Vitsentsatos to send Kizan from his hand to his Graveyard.

Bellocchio drew Six Samurai United and Set it.

Vitsentsatos attacked directly with Wind-Up Hunter and Wind-Up Rabbit to finish Bellocchio off!

Stavros Vitsentsatos takes the second Duel and pushes the Match to a final Duel!

Samurai Army

Vitsentsatos Normal Summoned Tour Guide From the Underworld and activated its effect to Special Summon another copy from his Deck. He combined both Tour Guides in order to Xyz Summon Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity and then detached an Xyz Material to activate its effect; but Bellocchio Chained Maxx “C” from his hand! Vitsentsatos Special Summoned Wind-Up Shark from his Deck and Bellocchio drew a card thanks to Maxx “C”. Next, Vitsentsatos Special Summoned Wind-Up Shark from his hand, and Bellocchio drew another card. Vitsentsatos bumped both Sharks to Level 5 and Xyz Summoned Tiras, Keeper of Genesis, allowing Bellocchio to draw another card.
