The perfect Introduction to the Game

07.07.2012 | 21:54 |

When you start thinking about the WCQ: European Championship, your first thoughts might be something along the lines of: “Extremely competitive event! Only the best of the best are allowed to participate.”

While this might be true about the competitors of the Main Event, there’s also plenty to experience for non-veteran players! Additionally, we also cater to the needs of interested visitors that have never played a single game of Yu-Gi-Oh! before. Head inside to take a look at our demo tables and see what they are all about.

I asked our member of the volunteer team Luca what it was like giving demos.

Luca: It was lots of fun playing with Six Samurai vs. Chaos Dragons. Lord of D. together with The Flute of Summoning Dragon made me feel like Kaiba himself and I really put the fear in my opponents when I Special Summoned several Dragons to the field in just one turn!

Luca wasn't the only one giving Demos!

You are not supposed to crush the players you’re giving a demo, now are you?

Luca: Well, they fought back with Gateway of the Six and that helped them to turn the game around and come out winning! So no harm done.

Not everyone could find a way to come back after a huge turn by the demoing player!

What was the general impression of visitors that challenged you in a demo?

Luca: It was a lot of fun, both for them and for me. The players really liked the 20 card Decks that we put together for this special occasion!

Alright, thanks to Luca, you now have a general impression of what it’s like to receive a demo at a larger event. Additionally, it’s rather obvious that it’s lots of fun giving demos, so if you ever wanted to become a member of our staff team, but didn’t see yourself in the role of a judge, this might be a very fitting position for you. Give it a try, you’ll be surprised how much fun it is to teach other players all of the fascination that is Yu-Gi-Oh!
