Top 32: Sascha Senne (Dino Rabbit) vs. Georg Halder (Agents)

[p]Making it to the Top 32 after 11 rounds of Swiss? That’s quite something. Making it to the Top 32 after 11 rounds of Swiss without losing a single match? Extremely impressive! Doing so with an Agent Deck that makes use of easy to get cards from Structure Decks and Tins? I can tell there’s a story waiting for me![br]
Georg Halder is the man of the hour and he now has to take on Sascha Senne’s Dino Rabbit Deck. Both have met in Round 6 yesterday already and Senne admitted that it had been quite the beatdown – he didn’t stand the ghost of a chance and went down 0:2!
[/p][p]
Both players shuffled each other’s Deck carefully and then we proceeded with the match. Senne won the die roll and opted to go first.

A second [kabaz] was [ns]ed. He sent one into [venus] and the attack went through. A direct attack followed. During [mp] 2, Senne used both monsters to Xyz Summon [dolkka]. “No risk, no fun!”, Senne commented. That concluded the turn.
[/p][p]
Halder Set a Spell or Trap and passed right back.
[/p][p]
Senne [ns]ed [tour guide] and [ss]ed [sangan]. He used both Level 3 Monsters to Xyz Summon [leviair], detached [sangan] for its effect, but Senne used [warning]. 2000 Life Points left for Senne. “What’s your face-down card?”, Senne asked. “It’s either a bluff or not!”, Halder joked. [dolkka] declared an attack and the face-down card was indeed just a bluff.

[nbsp][p]
“It’s the curse of going undefeated in Swiss!”, Senne remarked. Halder wouldn’t want to hear any of it. “I’ve done a lot better than expected already. This doesn’t bring me down”, he replied. He didn’t take long to exchange some cards between Main and Side Deck and started shuffling. Senne took a little longer, but he seemed to be pretty relaxed, not surprising considering the great spot he’s in.

[venus] was [ns]ed and its effect was used. [maxx] was discarded in response by Senne, but Halder chained [orange] to negate the effect. He brought out 2 copies of [msb], then used them to Xyz Summon [ggg]. 3 cards left in Halder’s hand and he passed for his turn.
[/p][p]
Senne Set 2 Spells or Traps.
[/p][p]
[duality] revealed 2 [fiendish] and [warning]. “Not bad”, Senne commented. Halder didn’t share his excitement and he picked [warning]. [venus] attacked directly, dealing 2000 damage. Halder Set 2 back row cards and passed.
[/p][nbsp]
No need for Senne to commit more cards to the field!

Senne had [tt] face-down and [mf], [warning], [fiendish] and [storm] in his hand. He didn’t perfom any actions and passed.
[/p][p]
[venus] attacked once more and [fiendish] was activated on [ggg]. That meant 1600 damage for Senne.
[/p][p]
Still no monster for Senne, he drew into [reborn]. His Deck gave him quite the headache, but he wouldn’t show it. He activated [storm] and while he lost [tt] and [fiendish], Halder lost [warning] and [mst]. [reborn] followed, resurrecting Halder’s [kristya]! “Seems like good game already!”, Halder commented. Senne Set 2 Spells or Traps and passed.
[/p][p]
[venus] was supposed to come down, however, [kristya] had a word to say about that. “Err… [bom]?”, Halder tried again, flipping the Fairy face-down and then [ss]ing [hyperion]. [warning] negated that, but [reborn] succeeded where [hyperion]'[s] own effect disappointed. [fiendish] stopped the boss monster from doing any real damage and it was up to Senne.
[/p][p]
He attacked into [ggg] and Set a Spell or Trap.
[/p][p]
Halder passed without performing any actions.
[/p][p]
Senne attacked again, but didn’t Set a card this time.

[nbsp][p]
[hyperion] was Tribute Summoned. It got rid of [kristya], attacked, but that ended in [mf].
[/p][p]
Senne now [ns]ed [rabbit]. This got him 2 copies of [kabaz]. He asked out loud whether he should [ss] [dolkka] or [laggia] and eventually decided to stick with [dolkka] for the time being. He attacked directly, Halder had no [gorz], he was left with 3900 Life Points, Senne Set a Spell or Trap and passed.
[/p][p]
Halder was standing with his back against the wall. He drew into a third card, Set a monster and ended his turn.
[/p][p]
[tour guide] was quite the follow-up to Senne’s last turn. He [ss]ed [sangan], then used both monsters to [ss] [leviair] to the field, this got him [rabbit] back and it left the field for 2 copies of [saurus]. [dolkka] attacked over [honest], attacks with [leviair] and the 2 Normal Monsters followed and that meant game for Sascha Senne!
[/p][nbsp]

Sascha Senne is the first to defeat Georg Halder!

[nbsp][p]
Georg Halder couldn’t overcome the curse and his first loss all weekend resulted in his elimination from the Main Event. There’s no more disappointing way to get kicked out of the tournament, but Halder took it in the fairest way possible, wishing his opponent all the best for the remaining rounds!
