We’re getting down to the wire here in YCS Sydney, as we get ready for the Top 8 matches! Dominic Italiano has come from Melbourne, while his opponent, Chris Mattiske, hails from Adelaide. Both of these Duelists have had Feature Matches before, and both competitors have chosen to use Performapal Performages in the tournament. Which of these Duelists will advance to the Top 4 Round?

Dominic won the die roll and decided to go first.

Dominic’s hand contained Treacherous Trap Hole, 2 Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, and Twin Twisters. He Normal Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and added Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to his hand. Then, he activated Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Sorcerer, then destroyed his Sorcerer to add a Sorcerer to his hand. He then activated the second Sorcerer and Pendulum Summon 2 monsters: a Joker from hand, and the first Sorcerer (from his Extra Deck). Dominic used its effect to destroy Luster and the Pendulum Zone Sorcerer to add Performapal Lizardraw and Performapal Guitartle to his hand. Then, he activated Guitartle, then Lizardraw to draw a card from Guitartle, then destroyed Lizardraw to draw another card. He then used his 2 Jokers to Xyz Summon Evilswarm Nightmare! Chris started the Duel with Draco Face-Off, Performapal Guitartle, Performapal Monkeyboard, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, and Instant Fusion. He drew Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer for turn. Activate Performapal Guitartle, then Performapal Monkeyboard, which drew him a card thanks to Guitartle. Then he used Monkeyboard’s effect, but Dominic used Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy it before it resolved! Chris activated Draco Face-Off, and Dominic Chained Maxx "C" to it. Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord was placed in the Pendulum Zone, and Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer went to the Extra Deck. He then Pendulum Sumoned 2 monsters: Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his hand. Dominic drew Vector with Maxx "C". Chris’ Sorcerer destroyed his Pendulum Zone Vector to search Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, and then Nightmare flipped both Luster and Sorcerer face-down. He Xyz Summoned Tellarknight Ptolemaeus, then used it to Summon Cyber Dragon Nova, then Xyz Summoned Cyber Dragon Infinity, and with that, Dominic conceded!

Chris had all the right cards at the right time in the first game, with the Wavering Eyes to shut down Dominic’s turn. Can Chris do the same in game 2?
