Ido

Name: Ido Marcus
Age: 25
Country: Israel

What Deck are you playing today?
I’m running a pure Shaddoll build, no Seraph, so Artifacts and no Dragons. Shaddoll is a control Deck with a lot of card draw. That’s the main reason why I decided to run it. And it has a lot of Flip effects which I love ever since Goat format.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
To be honest I think it’s 0%. I’m still surprised I made it this far in the tournament.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
I’m siding 2 Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress against all the floodgates that are played right now. It proved to be a very valuable addition. I also maindeck 3 Shaddoll Falco and 3 Shaddoll Hedgehog which is very unusual for a Shaddoll Deck.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
I didn’t have any tough games today. Yesterday I had to face a very strong Nekroz player. He played around Artifact Lancea very skilfully but still lost in the end. He used Nekroz of Decisive Armor instead of Nekroz of Trishula so it didn’t hurt him at all.

Riccardo

Name: Riccardo Loggia
Age: 21
Country: Italy

What Deck are you playing today?
Burning Abyss – I think that Nekroz is the best Deck, but I didn’t want to play mirror matches all the time. So I decided to go with the second best Deck at the time.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
I’m not feeling all too confident, even though I made it this far in the tournament. The game is based on luck and I might run out of luck any time.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
I’m playing a standard Burning Abyss Deck. I decided to maindeck Mistake because I expected a lot of Nekroz.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
Shaddoll has a great Match-Up against me and I’m glad I didn’t have to face any today.

Martin

Name: Martin van de Wetering
Age: 24
Country: Netherlands

What Deck are you playing today?
Star Seraph Hands Shaddoll – I won a Regional with it and I tested with it a lot against all the current Decks. It worked out very well for me. I felt very confident with it and also got lucky.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
I do look from one game to another. I’m already very happy with what I achieved today. I want to take a shot at Top 4 and a trip to Worlds.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
I maindeck the hands which are very good. They are an out to the Djinn-lock and to [con ptel]. With Ice Hand I’m able to get rid of floodgates and Qliphort Scout. Both are fodder for Shaddoll Fusion and help to Summon El Shaddoll Grysta and El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis. They can turn games around. I’m glad I decided to include them to the Main Deck.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
That was a game against Nekroz: I won the first game. Second game he had all the cards to protect his Nekroz of Clausolas. I couldn’t special Summon and lost the game. Game 3 went back and forth, but I won in the end.

Alessandro

Name: Alessandro di Patria
Age: 20
Country: Italy

What Deck are you playing today?
Burning Abyss, it’s my favourite Deck at the moment since I won Nationals with it.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
I’m happy with getting a Top 4 spot and going to Worlds. That’s all that matters to me.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
It’s a fairly standard Burning Abyss built. My favourite tech card is Barbar, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss. The burn damage it does proved to be very valuable throughout the whole tournament.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
My Top 16 match right now was really tough. I had to play versus Ritual Beast. I already lost Game 1 and in Game 3 he already had a good setup. I topdecked into Raigeki to steal the Game. I’m very happy now!

Matej

Name: Matej Jakob
Age: 24
Country: Slovenia

What Deck are you playing today?
It’s a standard Qliphort Deck, not the turbo version. It’s a machine archetype and I always play machine Decks. Furthermore it’s a little bit of an underdog Deck and I like that too.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
I’m facing Burning Abyss now and this is my worst matchup. But I want to stay positive and optimistic. I came this far anyway why stop now?

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
Necrovalley – I side it against Nekroz. Black Horn of Heaven proved to be a valuable addition to my Side Deck. It’s particularly strong versus Ritual Beast, Satellarknights and in the mirror match.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
I lost two matches against Nekroz and one of them was very unlucky. I couldn’t do anything at all even though it was a fair game.

Daniel

Name: Daniel Bendtsen
Age: 19
Country: Denmark

What Deck are you playing today? Star Seraph Hands Shaddoll

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
I feel really good right now. I beat players I did not expect to win against so I’m feeling very confident right now.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
Anti-Spell Fragrance in the Main Deck. It’s amazing in the Nekroz and the Qliphort matchup. Whenever I draw into the card I win the match

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
I played against Bennedikt Junk in Top 64. He is running the Qliphort turbo built and is able to set up Apoqliphort Towers early. I do not play a single out to towers in my Main Deck. I was lucky that he could not get into towers quickly so I managed to win.

Jörg

Name: Jörg Müller
Age: 27
Country: Germany

What Deck are you playing today?
Nekroz, felt like it’s the best Deck going into this event.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
I was glad I topped, but didn’t really expect it after taking two early losses during Swiss. I’m already far more successful than I could have expected.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
I main Nekroz of Decisive Armor which is good against all the other Decks that are not Nekroz. It also helped a lot to deal a lot of damage in one turn.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
That was my Top 32 match where my opponent and I had the same amount of life points after overtime. It was his turn and he couldn’t do any damage to me. The next turn I attacked for game.

Andre

Name: Andrea Ippolito
Age: 20
Country: Italy

What Deck are you playing today?
Burning Abyss – I think it’s the best Deck at the moment. I feel like Nekroz is too easy to stop. There are so many hate cards in the meta right now.

What do you think about your chances of winning today?
It would be so nice to win the whole event and I would be very happy if I could go to Worlds.

Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about?
I side into Xyz Universe into and Mischief of the Gnomes. I take their Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss and make into a Stellarknight Constellar Diamond on my side which is a devastating play.

Which was your toughest game opponent today?
It was my Top 16 game against Nekroz. In Game 2 I could have played a lot better. I misplayed with Farfa, he was able to Chain Nekroz of Trishula and I lost. But after all I won the match.
