Niccolo Mazzoleni

Name: Niccolo Mazzoleni
Age: 20
Country: Italy, Venice
What Deck are you playing today? ABC, I didn’t have time to playtest a lot before the event. My friends told me to play the Deck and it worked out very well for me.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I didn’t expect to do that good but I’m happy to be here. I think we came up with a fancy build that gives me the edge over my opponents. Now everything is possible.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? We are maindecking Artifact Sanctum and Artifact Scythe.
Final words? I want to thank my friends for helping me build the Deck.

Jack Verma

Name: Jack Verma
Age: 14
Country: Germany, Berlin
What Deck are you playing today? Minerva Lightsworn
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I’m mainly here to have fun. Making the top cut was great. I’m feeling confident with my Deck so I think my chances are good.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I run Brilliant Fusion, Shiranui Solitaire and Fairy Tail - Snow in the Main Deck. PSY-Framelord Omega is still a force to be reckoned with in today’s metagame.
Final words? I want to give shoutouts to all of my friends. And I want to point out that my Deck is better than the one of Julius Schürhoff.

Marcello Barberi

Name: Marcello Barberi
Age: 22
Country: Italy, Rome
What Deck are you playing today? ABC – I feel like it’s the best Deck of the format before the new set is legal.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I felt confident enough to top but I was scared of the die roll. I didn’t expect to go 10:0 in Swiss. Now I have good chances to take this home to Italy.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Im playing two traps as targets for Rafflesia Seduction: Time-Space Trap Hole and Bottomless Trap Hole. Both worked out very well today.
Final words? Shoutouts to my teammates “Let’s do it!”

Ben Sherman

Name: Ben Sherman
Age: 24
Country: UK, Manchester
What Deck are you playing today? PK Fire – I feel like it’ the strongest Deck whether you are going first or second.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I thought I had a good chance to top 32, but I didn’t expect that I would be sitting here doing a Top 8 profile. I feel very good now.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I main Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries other than that it’s a fairly standard build.
Final words? Shoutouts to Jared Stone for the Deck ideas, we playtested a lot together. And shoutouts to the rest of the UK team.

Thomas Rose

Name: Thomas Rose
Age: 21
Country: UK, Bristol
What Deck are you playing today? Phantom Knight Burning Abyss – everyone is playing ABC and Side Decks are full of cards to beat the Deck. I didn’t want to play a Deck that’s so heavily sided against.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I was very confident. All of my friends were playing ABC, at least play a goodbuild.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I maindeck 6 handtraps: 3 Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries and 3 Chaos Hunter. I have 49% chance of opening at least one of them.
Final words? I want to give shoutouts to James and Alec helping me getting ready for the event and Alex who’s still with me in the Top 8.

Minerva

Name: Tom Viergutz
Age: 21
Country: Germany, Dresden
What Deck are you playing today? Lightsworn – I feel like it’s the only Deck that can go second and win against ABC constantly. I played 11 ABC Decks throughout the whole event and my record is 10:1.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I think the format is very luck based. But I’m playing the best Deck so my chances are good.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I maindeck the The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine. It Summons itself as Level 4 monster and adds to the consistency of the Deck. I think it’s a lot better than Photon Thrasher and makes going into Minerva, Lightsworn Maiden a lot easier.
Final words? I want to give shoutouts to all the players form Dresden and everybody that lent me cards for the weekend, especially Tony Steudner.

Michele Azzalini

Name: Michele Azzalini

Country: Italy, Bergamo
What Deck are you playing today? ABC – I had no other Deck and it’s a fairly easy Deck to play.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? I was hoping to top but I didn’t expect to do that good. I’m hoping to win the whole event now.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I play Bottomless Trap Hole without Rafflesia Seduction. Opening with Bottomless Trap Hole you can avoid Union Hangar.
Final words? I had a great time here in Liverpool!

Jan Hausmann

Age: 20
Country: Germany, Münster
What Deck are you playing today? ABC – I feel like it’s the strongest Deck at the moment.
What do you think about your chances of winning today? My goal was Day 2 and then Top 32. It’s my first top at a YCS, but I’m feeling very confident now. My chances are high when I draw the right cards.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I play three copies of Mavelus as a target for Instant Fusion.
Final words? I want to give shoutouts to Max and Florian that I came here with.
