During round 5 or 6, I had to go up against a Mermail Duelist who gave me quite the challenge. Our game went to time and I just managed to come out on top!

I can’t think of a particular move. I tried to take it 1 game at a time, which was necessary after losing the first round. I went on and won all the remaining matches and I want to continue my streak now!

I really like the current format. A couple of decks are viable choices, which makes for a pretty diverse format. Apart from that, the tournament this weekend has been a blast for me so far!
[/p]
[p]
Who was your toughest opponent?
[/p]
[p]
My round 10 opponent. I won the match 2 – 0, but we went to time and I only had 600 Life Points remaining. I still turned it around, which meant I would advance to the Top 32!
[/p]
[p]
What was your best play all weekend?
[/p]
[p]
Just like Alpay, I had a pretty bad start. I even went 0 – 2 before I started to win.
[/p][p]
Apart from that, my favorite card all weekend was [cowboy] as I finished several opponents with it!

What’s been your Yu-Gi-Oh! highlight of 2012?
[/p]
[p]
I liked unleashing the Wind-Up combos and the fact that the Deck is still a viable contender after it had to deal with a number of limitations.
[/p]
[p]
Who was your toughest opponent?
[/p]
[p]
In Round 4, I had to play another Wind-Up player. He had a great hand, but I drew into all the answers and was able to turn the game around!

[/p]
[p]
Round 2, I started with 2 [w fac], followed it up with [w shark] and I had the chain resolve in a way that my opponent couldn’t respond with [tt] to the [ss] of [w mag]. This left him no choice but to extend the hand!

Who was your toughest opponent?
[/p]
[p]
Just now! I had to overcome Nikos Hadjiioannou in a Wind-Up mirror and it was really close. The first game, he was able to [xyz] [16] and I lost because of that. The second game, I was able to go for the combo first, he came back, but then I drew into [tt] which won me the game. The third match was close again, but I somehow came out on top.

What’s been your Yu-Gi-Oh! highlight of 2012?
[/p]
[p]
I only started playing again after a 3 year break when the last forbidden list was released. It was quite shocking, everything worked different compared to back then.
[/p]
[p]
Who was your toughest opponent?
[/p]
[p]
In Round 9, I had to go up against a Wind-Up player and he didn’t make any mistakes. It was a very close match and I was able to manage a 2 – 1 just so.
[/p]
[p]
What was your best play all weekend?
[/p]
[p]
Actually, just now. I took my opponent’s Agent with [mind], [ss] my own [msb][s], followed it up with [tgu] and I could then go on and [xyz] a monster to tie things up!

YCS Leipzig! I won my second YCS title there!
[/p]
[p]
Who was your toughest opponent?
[/p]
[p]
My toughest opponent was Angel Matas. I couldn’t beat him, no matter what I tried! He did something unexpected in game 2 and he caught me off guard, leaving me no chance to turn things around!
[/p]
[p]
What was your best play all weekend?
[/p]
[p]
Well, [w mag] into [w shark] doesn’t sound that exciting. However, I was able to beat an opponent’s turn 1 [16] several times with my own [w mag], which was quite cool!

If it would be “the last year”, I would say YCS Brighton. Since you asked this way, I gotta say YCS Toulouse. I’ve now attended 4 YCS and I made it to the tops 3 times!
[/p]
[p]
Who was your toughest opponent?
[/p]
[p]
I have to say Peter Groß. It was the rematch of the finals of YCS Toulouse and it went to time and ended in a draw.

With only 2 [rabbit][s], I think you often have to set the Normal Monsters to make your opponent believe you’re playing a different Deck. You can then [fs] them the next turn, follow it up with another copy from your hand and go for the Evolzars!
[/p]
[nbsp][p]
Congratulations again to the last remaining 8 players in competition this weekend! We can’t wait to find out who will go all the way and win YCS Barcelona!
