30.06.2019 | 18:30 |

After 11 long Rounds of Swiss across two days and 3 further Knockout Rounds, we have finally reached the Top 8. All of these Duelists fought hard to get where they are right now and all of them want to go to Worlds! One more win separates them for their big goal. Let’s find out who they are and what they are playing today.

Jake Quinsee

Name: Jake Quinsee
Age: 26
Country: United Kingdom
How do you feel right now? I don’t know, I take it one game at a time. I try not to get too excited. Of course my goal still is to go to Worlds and become European Champion.
What Deck are you playing today? Orcust, I feel like it is the best Orcust list around. It contains a lot of spice!
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? I maindeck three copies of Iblee, which is the most broken card in the Deck. It plays around all the handtraps, it’s the perfect extender and they can’t ash or gamma. I tried it once and found out that it’s the perfect addition to the Deck.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my travel friend Sami Sekkom and Kirk Clarke. Shoutouts to all my supporting friends.

Alexander Rauch

Name: Alexander Rauch
Age: 18
Country: Germany
How do you feel right now? I’m feeling great! This is my first Top 8, everything’s great. I don’t play too many events, but if I do, everything goes fine.
What Deck are you playing today? Altergeist – since I’m running Metaverse and Trap Trick I have instant access to a lot of floodgates and the most important cards of my engine. So, I feel like I have a good a Match-Up against all the current Decks.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? I maindeck Heavy Storm Duster and it was great all day long. I can also search with Trap Trick should I need it. Out of my Side Deck, Gamma was really strong.
Final Words? Shoutouts to Team Flex, I’ll try hard to go on.

Mirko Zanelli

Name: Mirco Zanelli
Age: 21
Country: Italy
How do you feel right now? I feel ok. I think I have the most important game of in my life ahead of me. I have the experience, know how it feels and I think I will be able to handle the pressure.
What Deck are you playing today? Crusadia Pure – I think it is the best combo Deck. The Deck can play around Lancea and other handtraps very well. You can push through and still finish with a good board. The Deck only needs two cards to combo off.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? We run Kaoki Meiru Drago – it is really good in the mirror match. It’s a floodgate with attack points. The Deck in general is very good tech choice.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my Team E-Man games, Matteo Bertulezzi (we play the same list), but he lost in the Top 32 and all my friends that support me.

Hermann Hansson

Name: Herman Hansson
Age: 20
Country: Sweden
How do you feel right now? I feel excited and nervous as well. I’m one match away from going to worlds and I’m mostly happy about it. I feel very well prepared and won’t let the pressure get to me.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Dragon – I play a special version that is focused more on OTKing with Borrelsword. The advantage of my version is that I can make the same board like the Danger! Thunder build going 1st.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? The by far best card this weekend was Draconnet. I believe the card has won me about 20 games. Every match was won by it.
Final Words? Shoutouts to JK entertainment, my family, my friends, all the Swedish people that came to Euros and my Team Frozen Card Gaming.

Adrian Dursun

Name: Adrian Dursun
Age: 22
Country: Germany
How do you feel right now? I’m still feeling fine. My feet started hurting a few Rounds ago and I don’t know why. Its my second chance this weekend to earn my spot for Worlds and this time I don’t want to miss it.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker, it’s still the best and most consistent Deck. I feel like it is the Deck that has the best chances to turn a game around.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? I run Hercules Base, Jamming Wave und Afterburner in my Side Board. I mainly put it in against the Decks where I have dead cards and need to take something out.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my Team United Gosus, all of my friends that supported me at my race for worlds, my brother and my girlfriend.

Samir Bachar

Name: Samir Bachar
Age: 24
Country: France
How do you feel right now? I’m very happy about another Top 8 and to get another chance to go to worlds. I would love to go there again and get my revenge.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Dragon – I like the mechanics and how it runs. It suits me very well.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? I run a copy of Topologic Gumblar Dragon. It changes the OTK in my favour. The regular OTK is “only” 8100, mine is 12000 damage.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my Team Bendo Card Player, to my family and all of my friends.

Shahak Deutsch

Name: Shahak Deutsch
Age: 27
Country: Israel
How do you feel right now? I’m very happy with my result. Even though I’ve already been playing for 15 years, this is my first chance to earn an invite to worlds. I really want to go there and represent Israel.
What Deck are you playing today? Salamangreat – I wanted to choose a Deck that is consistent and has outs to a big variety of Decks. Foxy outs almost any floodgate.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? I run two copies of Super Poly in the Main Deck. They were amazing!
Final Words? Israeli people had troubles coming here, because it is so far away. What made this event so special was my opponent’s. I had great opponents all day long. Thanks for the great experience.

Gabriel Soussi

Name: Gabriel Soussi
Age: 17
Country: France
How do you feel right now? This is my first chance to make it to worlds and I would love to be there. I just came from a tough game and was barely able to win. Now I would really love to make it. But what’s even more important is that I want a French player to go there.
What Deck are you playing today? Salamangreat – I played the Deck all the season long and I won and topped a lot of Regionals with it. Thunder Danger is a lot more dependent on the dice roll and Salamangreat is a lot better going 2nd. So, it was the right decision, since I only won a few dice rolls this weekend.
Any tech cards you want to let the world know about? Transcode Talker in my Extra Deck was very good! The card helps me steal games that I was not supposed to win. People tend to forget that you when your opponent’s life points are at zero. And Transcode Talker puts a lot of damage to the table.
Final Words? Thank you to everybody that supported me and I hope I will make it.
