WCQ Regionals: Kim Verheyen (Hieractic Dragon Rulers) vs Frederic Janoy (Firefist)

It’s time we took a look towards the WCQ Regional Qualifiers! As the main event continues, people over here are battling it out to gain entry to one of the most prestigious events in Europe! Here we see Kim Verheyen and Frederic Janoy. Verheyen is playing Hieretic Dragon Rulers and Lanoy is playing Firefist!

Verheyen wins the roll and goes first.

She plays [convo] and gets [eset] to hand. She Normal Summons [eset] and Special Summons [su]. [eset]’s effect allows her to get [labra drag] and they overlay into [atum]. [atum] removes [su] and Special Summons [blaster]. [eset] is removed and gets [redox]. [redox] and [blaster] overlay for [sack] and two tokens hit the field. She sets two [fd] [sts] and ends.

Janoy sets a [fd] Monster and five [fd] [sts]. Verheyen plays [ashes] in the End Phase and gets [su] into the Graveyard. [break] destroys a [lance].

In Verheyen’s Main Phase 1, [sack] is punted with a [ced]. [ashes] is activated and [mst] is chained. [su] enters the field. [su]’s effect discards [su] and destroys [fiendish]. The [su] in the Graveyard brings [luster] to the field and it is overlaid with [su] into [gau lau]. [gau lau] destroys a set [ff rooster] and the effect of [su] brings a [debris] into play. It Synchro Summons a [brd] and [blaster] Special Summons from the Graveyard. Both are overlaid into [sack] and Janoy concedes.

Janoy begins game two and plays a [orange], sets two [fd] [sts] and ends.

Verheyen plays [tefnuit] who trips into a [bth]. She sets four [fd] [sts] and finishes.

Janoy plays [ff bear] and attacks directly getting a [ff tenki] and in turn getting a [ff gorilla]. She uses [mind crush] getting rid of the [ff gorilla].

Verheyen does nothing.

Janoy plays another [ff tenki] and gets [ff bear]. He plays it and both [ff bear]s become [overworked]! [lance] stops one of the [ff bear]s from leaving the field. [ff tenki] comes face-down and Janoy ends.

Verheyen plays [reckless] and sets two [fd] [sts].

Janoy plays [ff tenki] and gets another [ff bear], he plays it and attacks for game!

Janoy’s [ff bear] hits the field and attacks directly. [ff tenki] hits the field from the Deck and [ff bear] is [mind crush]ed.

Verheyen plays [reckless] and sets two [fd] [sts].

Janoy attacks directly and [ff bear] is [overworked]! He Summons [wolfbark] and [skill drain] shuts him down. Janoy sets two [fd] [sts] and ends. She can’t stop her own [reckless] and plays it again.

Verheyen summons [eset] who is [bth]ed. She sets one [fd] [st] and ends.

Janoy Normal Summons [orange] and attacks directly!

Verheyen activates [ashes] and brings [eset] back to the Graveyard! She removes [eset] and [su] from her hand to Special Summon [tdrag]. She plays [planter] to draw two cards and uses [convo] to bring [eset] to hand. She plays [eset] and plays [wingbeat]. She attacks [wolfbark] with [tdrag], sets one [fd] [st] then ends.

Janoy sets two [fd] [sts] and ends. [tdrag] returns to hand.

Verheyen sets one [fd] [st] and ends her final turn.

Janoy flips [ff tensu] and attacks! Verheyen plays her last [reckless] but comes up short and concedes!
