Good morning and welcome to the live coverage of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Paris! Today’s event marks the 3rd stop of the YCS in Europe and the 1st in the new year with the new Limited and Forbidden List that went into effect almost 7 weeks ago. It’s safe to assume that players had time to prepare and will be up for the challenge. Let’s take a look at what we have in store for you during our coverage.
First and foremost, we’ll be having lots of Feature Matches, making you feel like you’re sitting right next to the players on our featured table. You’ll know exactly how the new YCS Champion came to be! Then, we’ll provide you with some insights into creative and brand new deck ideas while we’ll also try to highlight some new approaches to the better known archetypes in a series of Deck Analysis articles. Will the Nordics be able to make a strong showing for the first time ever? Will the Lightsworns come back for a second reign after their 2 year hiatus from the top tables? Be sure to check back to our coverage regularly, it will have all the answers!
There’s still more, though. Who will win the Attack of the Giant Card events? Who will win the travel to the next European YCS without having to pay for the trip? Which young player will be able to take home the crown of the Dragon Duel Champion? We’ll be taking close looks at all the Public Events as well, so be sure to check out our Satellite News.
Europe is known for its diverse decks. The various countries tend to favor different types of decks and a European YCS is always like a huge clash of regional flavours and ideas. Who’ll have the upper hand today? Maybe some new approaches to the French Twilight or an Italian build of the Six Samurai? Those articles can be found in Statistics.
Take all that and add a number of pictures, an attendance of most likely more than 700 players and the great flair of Paris and you’ll feel like you just became part of this great event called Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Paris!
