Hello everyone and welcome to the final European YCS of 2014! This year we have been to many of Europe’s biggest cities, such as Berlin, Paris, Madrid and London, and now we’re back in Italy to round out the year. This is our second visit to Italy this year as August saw the city of Rimini host the biggest tournament of all, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship. That was a tremendous occasion and now we’re back for the [ycs].

A lot has changed since we last saw you all in London just over a month ago. The release of [nech] has shuffled up what was an established metagame, and we now have at least 3 top Decks that are all capable of taking the title. Shaddoll has been a mighty deck since it made its debut at YCS Madrid, and is still going strong but is now joined by Qliphort, the first truly dedicated Pendulum-focused Deck capable of winning big events, and Burning Abyss, which has received some crucial support from [nech]. In addition to these 3 decks there are many others just waiting for an opportunity to break through, such as Yang-Zing, Geargia, Lightsworn and Noble Knights.

As always, Europe’s top competitors are here also. Marcello Barberi, the first ever YCS winner to come from Italy, is here and ready to defent the title he won at YCS London. Peter Gross, a 3-time YCS winner, is also in attendance, along with all of the other top players from Austria. Joshua Schmidt and the other top Germans are here too and i just bumped into UK Duelist Jake Quinsee a few moments ago who also fancies his chances of victory.

This weekend we will be bringing you all of the action via our {stream}, with Oliver Gehrman and Robert Grayson-Hooley on commentary. Myself and Rudolf Weissinger will be here on the coverage blog with additional updates and features, so that none of you at home miss out on the happenings of YCS Milan. Join us as we end the 2014 European YCS circuit in style!
