YCS Duelist Diary Update #2

[p]
We’re done with day 1 and I wanted to check one last time with the players that we added to our YCS Duelist Diary. Let’s see how they’re doing!

[p]Rodrigo was sitting on an impressive 6 – 0 record prior to the last round and I couldn’t catch him for some closing comments. Here’s what he told me prior to round 7:

The last 3 rounds have been quite the blast for me! I had to face a Wind-Up Deck first and took the match with ease, winning 2 – 0 in spectacular fashion. My opponent was already a little behind when I activated [storm] and I simply made sure to never give the advantage away.
[/p][p]
The following round, I had to face a Dark World Deck. There was a crucial play where I could have activated [mf], but I instead opted to activate [bom] firts. I ran over the face-down monster the following turn, [reborn]ed it and that helped me to come out successful. Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference!
[/p][p]
In round 6, my opponent was able to win the first game thanks to [dad]. However, he never found a way to get rid of [stratos] in game 2. It attacked several times until it eventually won me the game![br]
The Inzektor player came out strong the third game and there was one crucial moment when my [fiendish] was met by [mst]. I chained [sj] which I saved up to that point and that helped me to eventually gain the upper hand. [storm] followed a little later, destroying 4 opposing cards! Some combos with [stratos] and [bubbleman] later and I was too far ahead to still lose that game!

Like we said, Rodrigo’s been having quite the time this weekend and it seems like we’ll see himagain tomorrow!

Edgar Valdez Mercedes ended up on 2 – 4 prior to round 7. He could have made it 3 – 3, but freely gave away a win against a younger player who had yet to win a round. Obviously, he’s kept his promise of being here to have fun first; doing well isn’t that important to him.
[/p][p]
The only downside? His friends are making fun of him for not doing that well.

Vincent is now sitting on a 4 – 2 record:

I’m now on the bubble and need to win a few games in a row. It won’t be easy, but I try to remain confident and take my chance!
[/p][/quote]
[p]That’s the spirit! And thanks to Tudor Mitchell’s advice, Vincent has the support he needs, which might motivate him to push all the way through!

Remy still has a shot at making Top 32!

[nbsp]
[p]Remy ended up on an impressive 5 – 2 record! He still hopes he can make it to the Top 32 and he’ll give it his all to pull through! We’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope he’ll go all the way!
[/p][p]
Alright, that’s it for today from our featured Duelists in the YCS Duelist Diary. We’ll get back to them tomorrow and see how the second day will go for them!
