Anthony

Name: Anthony Butorien
Age: 20
Country: Germany
How do you feel right now? I feel excited, but I’m also relaxed. My goal was to make it to Top 32 and now I’m already in the Top 8. That’s far more than I expected. Finally, I was able to make it. A lot of times I lost on the bubble.
What Deck are you playing today? Lunalight Orcust – I felt like it’s the most versatile Deck since in can build a big board, break boards and push through backrow.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I’m running Gizmek Oroshi in the Main. It was a great addition and exactly what the Deck needed.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my Team Next Level Card Gaming this is our first YCS top, Item Star Oldenburg and to the owner Nero.

Sam

Name: Sam Pearson
Age: 26
Country: UK
How do you feel right now? Pretty good! It’s my first time topping a YCS. I’ve been going to YCS consistently and finally managed to break through.
What Deck are you playing today? Cyber Dragon Orcust – I was testing with friends against the Lunalight and Strikers and I feel like it has a great match up against all of those. It’s also the Deck I’m most comfortable with.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I knew that a lot of people were trying to get Dimension Shifter, so I sided into Different Dimension Ground. I can’t be mega fleeted. So that card has done quite a lot this weekend.
Final Words? Shoutouts to the Disciples, the Brotherhood, especially Ed Aception he’s the guy that I based a lot of my choices of and he deserves credit for it.

Johannes

Name: Johannes Urbicht
Age: 26
Country: Germany
How do you feel right now? Great, I’m happy to be here. I just had to play a mirror match and they feel weird. Game 1 is very much dependent on the die roll. In Games 2 and 3 you have play around all kinds of tech cards and counters. It’s awkward but I came out victorious.
What Deck are you playing today? Lunalight Orcust, as soon as the tin promos were announced I started testing the Deck. It turned out to be able to play around Nibiru and Dark Ruler no More and set Imperial Order. That was the initial idea. During testing it turned out it was the best Deck for this event.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Basically the whole Deck is teched out. We decided to run Kaijus and Super Poly in the Main Deck.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my locals BB-Land Berlin, Marvin Weber, my girlfriend and all the people from Berlin.

David Erpen

Name: David Erpen
Age: 23
Country: Switzerland
How do you feel right now? I feel great! It’s my first Top 8 and my sixth try overall to win a match in the top cut. I’ve been playing for four years now and finally I made it thought to the Top 8.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Orcust – It’s good going 1st and compared to the other 1st turn boards you can also win the grind game. You can always push back no matter what.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Melody of the Awakening Dragon into Levianeer: it’s the best combo in the Deck.
Final Words? Shoutouts to team G.Y.M. and to the Austrian guys Marcel Hansch, Peter Müllner and Florian Gönner. They were the guys to come up with the idea and deserve their props.

Miles Sage

Name: Miles Sage
Age: 26
Country: UK
How do you feel right now? Crazy, this is my 1st ever YCS top. The Top 8 is just unexplainable. I’ve been working very hard for it. Last season I’ve worked non-stop to get where I am right now.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – I always run my absolute own creation and it usually pays off.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Super Poly – it’s been amazing all weekend. It’s turning off all the Thunder Dragon, Salamangreat and Orcust boards. It was responsible for a lot of my wins.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my wife for being so supportive, to my friends who came with me and to the messages from my friends.

Jonas Koschel

Name: Jonas Koschel
Age: 21
Country: Germany
How do you feel right now? Great, it’s good to be here again, even though, I won by Decking out my opponent and it feels weird to win that way.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Dragon – it’s the Deck that I’m most comfortable with.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I side Mystic Mine and it was a great decision. It won me so many games. A friend of mine told me to add the card only a few minutes before registration and it turned out to be great.
Final Words? Shoutouts to Olli Baba, Discord Crew, Team Trent and Inas.

Flavio Polumbo

Name: Flavio Palumbo
Age: 17
Country: Italy
How do you feel right now? Good, it’s my first YCS Top 8. I run a good Deck and it was all going smooth.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – I was expecting a lot of Orcust and I feel like Sky Striker has the best match-up. Until now, my predictions turned out to be true.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I run Gnomaterial and There can be only one in my Side Deck. Both were amazing this weekend.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my Team Armageddon, to all of my friend that came here with me, and my father.

Simon He

Name: Simon He
Age: 28
Country: UK
How do you feel right now? Pretty excited, I just had two tough matches and feel very fortunate I have come out on top.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – I really didn’t want to play it anymore, but to me personal it is the most technical Deck at the moment. You win by good plays and loose by misplay or win by the misplays of your opponent. I feel like combo is more die roll oriented and less skilful overall.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Nibiru is more of a deterrent like Evenly Matched was. The fear of being there is enough to keep player from overextending.
Final Words? Shoutouts to all of my friends back in Manchester. I have a lot of good people around me that’s helping me test and support me a lot. Without them I would not have been able to get back to this Level this quickly.
