Andres David Torres

Name: Andres David Torres
Age: 30
Country: Columbia
How do you feel right now? Pretty good, even though it’s been a long day. It’s my 1st time in Europe and making Top 8 is great! I like how the whole event is run. Props to the TO.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Dragon Danger! – I think it’s the best Deck. I won the UDS with it only a few days ago, so it was pretty much a safe bet I would run it for this event as well.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Threatening Roar, I side it in the Mirror Match and against the Rhongo Deck.
Final Words? Shoutouts to Pro Play Games in Miami!

Lucas Windel

Name: Lucas Windel
Age: 22
Country: Germany
How do you feel right now? Great! I wasn’t expecting to do that good. I came prepared and my Deck is performing very well.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – it’s the Deck I tested most with and I feel like it is the most consistent Deck.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I run Shared Ride and three Solemns for the Mirror Match. Those were great choices!
Final Words? Shoutouts to Team Trent and my friends at home in Bielefeld.

YCS, Milan 2018

Name: Federico Mecozzi
Age: 18
Country: Italy, Rome
How do you feel right now? Pretty hyped! Actually, I feel calm at the same time. I try to keep my cool and take it game after game. I strive to play my best and keep my focus.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Dragon – it was either Danger! or this one for this event. I couldn’t find enough time to test the Danger! Deck, so I decided to go with the Deck that I was most comfortable with.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? I want to point out Thunder Dragonduo. It‘s the first time I’m playing this card and it helped me win a few games, because my opponent didn’t expect it. The effect that you can add it from the Deck to the hand pretty amazing.
Final Words? Shoutouts to Team CCG, especially Raphael, who lent me the whole Deck and shoutouts to my playtesting partner Federico Pastore who’s currently fighting for Top 8.

Lucas Waser

Name: Lucas Waser
Age: 20
Country: Germany, Aachen
How do you feel right now? I’m excited and happy. It’s my first YCS Top 8 and it feels great!
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – I feel like it’s the only Deck, that lets you play each game and has a chance to win. In my opinion it’s the control aspect that makes the Deck so powerful.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Artifact Lancea – won me the game against Gem-Knight FTK. I side it against all the combo Decks in the current metagame.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my family and friends at home and the one guy that came here with me.

Dinh-Kah Bui

Name: Dinh-Kha Bui
Age: 22
Country: Germany, Berlin
How do you feel right now? Great, can’t complain! Never thought I would make it this far considering my Deck choice.
What Deck are you playing today? Prank-Kids – I thought that it is a good metacall, since it has a great Sky Striker Match-Up. People don’t know what to do against it. I only met one guy the whole weekend long who knew what they are capable off.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Basically, I would say it is the whole Deck!
Final Words? Shoutouts to my Team Seventh Sense, to Chung, Oz, Rasmus, Paul and all the other guys that lend me cards. Last but not least, shoutouts to my local store BB-Land Berlin.

Simon He

Name: Simon He
Age: 28
Country: UK
How do you feel right now? I’m glad to be here again. I didn’t expect to get this far. There is still a gap in my knowledge of rulings and interactions considering the time I’ve been off the game.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – I believe it is the best Deck by a small margin. There are a lot or very good Decks in the current metagame. It is much better going with something that you are comfortable with.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? The format changed since my last YCS and I it basically all came to down to predicting the metagame. So, my predications were mostly Sky Striker, an increased amount of Thunder Dragons, Altergeist and minimum combo Decks. I was certainly correct on that.
Final Words? Shoutouts to Joshua Schmidt for helping me with theory testing, Merlin Schumacher for answering all my ruling questions everyday without fail and Ben Sherman for getting me all the cards. Without them I wouldn’t have gotten this far this quickly.

Sebastien Ma

Name: Sebastien Ma
Age: 23
Country: France
How do you feel right now? Very good, it’s my first YCS Top 8 and I’m very proud to put France on the map again.
What Deck are you playing today? Sky Striker – since the new Forbidden & Limited List, it’s the only Deck I can play and I’m comfortable with.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? There can only be one – there card put in so much work this weekend.
Final Words? Shoutouts to Team One Piece Mania and my country.

Dimitris Rafailidis

Name: Dimitris Rafailidis
Age: 20
Country: Greece
How do you feel right now? I’m very happy, it is my 1st YCS Top 8.
What Deck are you playing today? Thunder Dragon – I’m comfortable with the Deck. I won LLDS Stage 2 with it prior to this event, so I was basically set on this Deck for Milan.
Any awesome tech cards you want to let the world know about? Pot of Desires was the MVP card of this weekend.
Final Words? Shoutouts to my friends in Greece.
